Joel, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family as you go through these sad times. Prehaps your mother knows best how to deal with this situation. Keep her comfortable and enjoy your time with her.

Joel sent me this information and asked me to post it if I thought it was appropriate. I do not find it to be inapporpriate or against any forum rules. It is simply real life stuff and Joel feels we are part of his extended family, as such he want to share this info and feeling with us. I can't see how anyone would be upset or offended by this. So here it is...

I took off work early today, as one of the Dr.s wanted to speak with all of the family members. Not a good thing usually.
He told us they were goin back in Mon. to do a biopsy to determine what the growth is, even tho they have already told us...they have also hinted at weeks, maybe months left for her...
I think the real reason is so the insurance people will believe she is there, and actually sick. The hospice nurse told us today that the ins. wouldn't cover the nurse care, etc. without the proof, so the biopsy is just so the Dr.s can confirm the disease.
My mother is in pretty sad shape, and it really sux to see her like that. She is in a lot of pain, and the morphine drip isn't doing much. She hasn't had anything to eat in 6 days now...she can't swallow because the growth has her esophagus pinched. The Dr. did say he could try to stretch that out, so maybe she could swallow something. Our family is hoping for a miracle, but preparing for something else...
Sorry to put all this great crap on here, at C3VR, but, it's the only way I can "talk" about the situation.
Thanks for your support, folks... ,[/QUOTE]

Joel, so very sorry to hear the bad news. I feel your pain.

I've been through it. You can e-mail me if you want.

i can not say anything that isn't already said, thank you for the note from adam with your feelings, never apoligize for how you feel or for sharing how you feel, speaking it out to others seems to in some way take some of the strength out of the pain and fustration of life. we might be spread all over the world and the counrty but my friend we are all sitting right next to you, with an ear, a shoulder, a gentle hug of caring, never be afriad to share with those that care. live the rest of your mothers days so you can remember the best days, not the end days, i believe that the body dies, gets old, breaks down, gets tried, but the person that i have known for a life time can live with me for ever, atleast until my body passes. take care.
Larry

Thanks again, family...
My mother(Kathy & I also) wants to thank the C3VR members for the huge plant/flowers she recieved today. She had no clue who it was from until we got there this afternoon and saw it. We told her it was from our "other" family members at the C3 Corvette Registry. It did bring a little smile to her face.
Thank you ALL for being so supportive. I know there are others here who have gone thru similar situations, and others that are still dealing with similar situations. I will say for myself, this is the best group of people I have ever been associated with, and I'm proud to be just one of the many here.
Thank you all.
