So, did they said they got all of it? What happens next? Is she going to recover since they took it out?
They have not told us what the prognosis will be now. They are waiting for the results of the biopsy to determine what it is to begin with.(I don't recall if he stated they definitely got all of it or not...) Sounds like trainees to me, but...what do I know?
The original DR. told us she(Mother) would NOT survive the surgery to remove it, then the cancer specialist told us he would have removed it in the first place, while they were in there last week. It's just all very frustrating... First, they pretty much said she only had a few weeks, maybe months to live, and there was nothing they could do. Now....we just don't know...We are hoping/praying for an intellegent answer, and some glimmer of hope for survival.

Vette(s): 1981 Cream exterior, camel interior. Looks great, runs good.

Hey Joel,
I sincerely hope you can find some rest and peace soon as well as your mom. Check out Psalm 23 & 121 in the bible, you may find some comfort. I know it can be frustrating dealing with doctors, but sometimes you have to pray for them also to do the right thing. Hang in there and take care.

Ok now.. 1st and foremost nothing but good karma and prayer in Joels Dirction. Im in the middle of this with my Mom. 3rd time actually.. 2x breast cancer, now bone cancer. Its not easy, you never get used to it but with all the advances in meds and treatment, the prognosis is better then even 5 years ago...
Joel, My best to you. MOST IMPORTANT is your positive outlook and support for your Mom.

Just got back from the hosp. tonite. Mama took off work today to go stay with my Mother some. She's in more pain now than before, and nauseous. I couldn't stay very long.
A nurse came in while we were there, and gave her a shot for the pain, and then her heart-rate monitor alarms started going ballistic. Nurse just kinda stood there and stared..."It's funny, her heart beat is just going up & down"...
Didn't appear to be anything major, or I guess they would have been a bit more interested.
I happened to look at the computer monitor they have in the rooms now, instead of the old "Charts" that hung on the beds. Under "Diagnosis" is says...Pancreaitis. HUH?
Thanks for the support, folks...I hope this works out...

Joel,
One of my best friends just spent 3 months in the hospital with pancreaitis. Like your mom, he was in a lot of pain and was on a feeding tube for the entire time and lost 54 lbs. I'm happy to report that he came home yesterday.
Our thoughts are with you and your family and our prayers are that your mom will recover soon.

Thankx for all the good vibes...
The latest is...mother did NOT have cancer, as they were insisting to begin with, but rather, a massive infection of some sort, that she has had for several years?! Hopefully, with some time, she will recover from the surgery, and have some pain-free time.
Mama & I went to visit last nite, but mother was not doing very well. Shaking very badly, and in serious pain. She was also not very cognizant of anything.
Now, they say she has pneumonia, and needs to start getting up and moving/walking around. I'm not sure that these people realize she can't walk on her own anyway, and hasn't been able to for years. I'm sure that now it's going to be even harder for her to do.
So, today, we got some good news, along with some not so good news. We can only hope/pray that it all works out...
