Vette(s): #'s matching hugger orange '77. flowmasters rebuilt eng & trans
Hey guys, I was wondering: do any of you collect classic cars in general, as a hobby (compulsion) I can see that many of you have more than 1 vette but any other kinds of old cars?
I have other classics besides the vette. European and American. I gotta' say though that this orange '77 coupe is a dream realized I can't wait for all the cruise nights. I go out to the garage and just stare at it. The C3 is the most unique car ever created, nothing can even compare. When it first arrived my 12 yr old said "that is the coolest car I have ever seen". Good enough for me.
Anyway just bored and thought I'd ask.

We have a '53 Jag XK-120 in the process of restow.. but a while off. About 60% done, and now with the Vette it may be even longer.
Also have a '83 Jag XJ-6 I re-did, it's a daily driver.
my favorite the '73 Vette...

Late last fall we added a '78 Trans Am (my bride loves older Firebirds) to the "family fleet". It is black, inside and out, with the Hurst t-tops, 400ci, and a Hurst 4 speed. We picked it up from the original owner and drove it straight to the winter storage spot where "The Toy" has spent the past three winters. Hopefully the garage addition will be done before it is time to bring them both home.
Then the fun begins...!!!

Anything, but Stock and more mods to come!
SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.
I've always owned more then one classic car, but I had to give them up and go to just one project at a time. Bascially I had to make a decisions between having kids or toys. Can afford to have them all.
I should be done 95% done with the 72 by late spring. Only thing that will be remaining is paint and body. Which I have someone lined up to do.
After that I have a big desire to build a 27 Track T roadster or a 33 Dodge Street Rod Truck. I will own these someday before I leave this planet. These are my only other desires in life. Don't get me wrong there are others, but these are number two and three on my list. I would also like the number 4 on my list, but that might be pushing it
I've already owned multiple 64-1/2 to 69 mustangs, a 72 Firebird, a 69 Ranchero, 69 Dodge D-100 Truck, and a 72 Honda CL350.

Yeah, one of the first times out with my '81, one of my son's friends said, "Wow. Mr. Chesher has a race car." This from a modern, jaded 12 year old! They just haven't seen cars like this in their life time.
I haven't "collected" them, but have previously owned a '69 Camaro (1st car at 16, worked on that heap weekly if not daily at times and loved nearly every minute of it) and an '82 Porsche 911. I enjoyed working on and improving all of them, but I have to say that the Vette is BY FAR the easiest and cheapest to restore or improve due to the huge number of vendors of aftermarket and repro Vette parts out there. Yeah, I said cheapest! Ex: Replacement leather seat covers for the Porsche = $5,000. (No, I didn't buy them...) Want extra HP? Go empty your bank account and divorce your wife first.
Plus, there's nothing like sitting practically between the rear tires in the Vette and listening to the rumble of a vintage V-8. As soon as I can pass my last required emissions test this year, I am going for the under-car chambered exhaust system. By all accounts, it sounds awesome.

Got a lot of projects, just not enough time and money. Besides the 68 Vette, have a 74 and 70 Triumph TR6 and a 1936 Ford Pickup which has the motor (flathead V8) out of it and is in storage. Costing me $93.00 per month (ouch) and its just sitting there. Gotta get moving on it.

I've owned at least 6 vettes, from 66 to 78, had 3 at one time. I've had the 68 the longest.
I've restored an old Chris Craft(1956)I have a '73 Correct Craft. Other cars in the shop are a 64 Falcon Sprint Convertible and a '29 vintage rod. Oh yeah and the Harley.
Also in the family are a 67 Mustang and a 68 Chevy truck, these belong to my sons.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
I guess I've been more into the small two seaters!
1983 Mazda RX7
purchased for $1000.00. Replaced the gas tank and fuel pump. That Wankel ran like a top for about a year until bitterly cold Michigan winter went and froze the water I forgot to drain from the block. Took the compression right out of that puppy. Still wish I'd had the sense to replace the engine in that car. FAST!!
1984 Nissan 300ZX Turbo
currently sharing the garage with the Pride and Joy. Bought it this summer to drive this winter (yeah, right!).
Turbo kicks in and watch out.
But really, nothing I've ever owned compares to my Vette. Even if it isn't one of the high performance models. It's just so...SENSUAL.
Now that I'll be owning two pole barns though I'm figuring on putting my Wing Nut hat on and trying my hand at gear wrenching. Maybe it's age. I never felt like this when I was younger.

I've got the 3 pictured. My wife calls it a collection. Always had at least 2 nice cars, favorite from the past was a 70 Nova with a big block. Car scared me, flexed too much.
I can probably get 16 cars into my "barn". Keep telling the wife I'm gonna fill it up. 3 down.....
