The amendment offered by Senator Kerry would reduce the 1994 appropriations for national defense by about $4 billion. I believe the Members of this body should recall that Congress has already reduced DOD's budget in 1994 by more than $18 billion. Moreover, in each and every year of the past 10 years, Congress has cut the funds provided for defense. We have already cut defense spending drastically. ...

Now if I may comment on another section that reduces funding for intelligence programs, and this amendment would reduce such funding by about $1 billion. Madam President, the intelligence budget has already been cut by almost 18 percent over the past 2 years. An additional reduction of $1 billion would severely hamper the intelligence community's ability to provide decisionmakers and policymakers with information on matters of vital concern to this country.

These issues include nuclear proliferation by North Korea --this has been on the front pages for the past 3 or 4 months--peacekeeping efforts in Bosnia and Somalia , as well as terrorist threats against American citizens and property. ...

At a time like this, is it prudent to reduce funds for the very intelligence programs which we need to identify these targets? This amendment would do that. It would blind our pilots. Is this the time to cut the satellite programs that give our forces warning of attacks? I hope that we will keep this in mind... If we do and this amendment passes, then we are putting blindfolds over our pilots' eyes. ...

I have just pointed out that by you aborting your child, you have superceded your rights over you own child's, and your childs rights should not be trampled on even by its own parents. You were conceived by your parents, does that mean they can kill you because you inconvenienced them? Please reread the paragraphs up above. If you don't agree with my logic then please say so and make your counter point. I have not dragged my religion into my arguments to hammer home the point of your hypocricy. Why do you bring it up? Also how does cows being equal to humans have any bearing to this argument? Even if they are equal to us, (which is ridiculous!) how does that change the fact that killing a child violates the childs right to life? No by you aborting your child you have harmed your child. If you steal all your child's hard earned money you are wronging your child. If you lock your child in a closet for all of its life.. you are harming your child. You have violated its rights to life, liberty, and persuit of happiness. Your child is not your property. He or She is an individual that needs your care.

If you want to go ahead. I do feel that I can never convince ben of my view on abortion since he himself has had one done to his own child, but I keep the argument going in the hope that every one else can see my point and vote to make abortion illegal.

Ya know...we have are own veiw points here. Can we all get along like grown adults. From the people I have met within this forum so far. I consider a high class/caliber of people. I'm sure most of you that I haven't met, live up to that same standard. I know that you all are of the same high class/caliber. Otherwise you wouldn't be here....so please, stop the bashing, insulting. State your opinion clearly and be clean on your replies. You might bump into one another at the next C3VR function. I'd rather see people having a beer or a soda together than starting a fight over political, religion, pro life/choice or whatever. This is a family here. Right?
