I will try to check in to the forum here as much as I can. My eyes are still a little sensitive to the glare of the screen.

I had mine done over 5 years ago - best thing I ever did! The only thing I found was that it took a bit longer than I expected to really feel comfortable with night driving. You'll see "halo's" around lights for awhile and it can make it difficult to read road signs. The glare from on-coming traffic can be a bit alarming at first as well. However, once that cleared up (took mine about a year) now everything is fine!
At this point I haven't hit the point where I need reading glasses, but I'm sure that's in the future. Even still, that's better than glasses for everything!
Wish they had perfected it to the point where it is today 20 years ago!

I'm going back for a check up friday. I'll let ya know how the vision is. Eric- you are right. The halo's at night are a little unnerving while driving. I hope mine don't last a year.
Jon- the procedure was about $2500 for both eyes. The way I look at it, it will pay for itself in 12.5 yrs, possibly less. Glasses for me right now are normally around $200 a pair per year, easily. And I also could not do contacts. I did buy myself a really nice cool pair of shades. The guy's at work were teasing me. They said why did I going though this to get rid of the specs, and now I wear shades. It's due to bright sun or fluorecent lights. The doctor said this will happen until things heal up.

You may want to ask some of the places that do Lasik if they offer some type of financing/payment plan. I know they offer it at some of the places here. I know $2500 is a lot, but just keep in mind the old saying...."you get what you pay for." So I won't tell you of a horror story of someone who went the cheap route. It wasn't good.

I had it done 2 years ago. I had a super bad astigmatism so I was really cautious & apprehensive. I probably see 20/30 now -- I was "off the chart" bad before. It was a great decision & as the others said, it really took a full year to finally feel great about night driving.
Good Luck!!
