Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

I'll grant you the opinion of "I can't drive 55" as a good song, but the original list asked for 60's and 70's music if I'm not mistaken and Sammy Hagar didn't record that little gem until the 80's.  I can still see all my frat brothers sitting on their a$$e$ in the house, totally enthralled by the newest sensation to hit the TV...MTV, and their total adoration of what we now call "hair bands" or "glam rock" and them calling it "metal".

I've recorded a disc just for driving in the Vette.  It includes the following selections:

Papa was a Rolling Stone (Temptations), Run through the Jungle (CCR), Dreams I'll never see (Molly Hatchet), Lowrider (War), I can't get Next to You (Temps), Crossfire (SRV), Gray Seal (Elton John), Bitch (Michele Branch), Heard it through the Grapevine (CCR), Celebrate (Rare Earth), Deacon Blues (Steely Dan), It's all over Now (Molly Hatchet), Get Ready (Rare Earth), Born to Wander (Rare Earth), Cisco Kid (War), Peg (Steely Dan), Kick it Out (Heart)

Not all of them are from the 60's or 70's, but quite a few of them are!

If you're leaving it up to my all time favorites, then:

Green Eyed Lady - Sugar Loaf

If you want simple length of song, then:

InaGaddadaVida - Iron Butterfly

And if you're looking for just plain off the wall:

Frank Zappa's entire Apostrophe album

Wow lots of great songs and memories to go along. I didn't see any Heart or Steve Miller songs listed. I like ZZ Top, I saw them when they were a stater band for the big named ones. I don't remimber who they were starting for but I knew they were going to be big. Another good song is You Can't Alwasy Get What You Want by the Rolling Stones. I WANT A ZZ4
