|QUOTE|glenns said: Did anyone see 20/20 this week? They had a piece on it about some Israelies sitting on a van and kind of laughing and horsing around while they watched the WTC burn. The report indicated they might have been Mosad agents and that the Mosad might have had info about the attack. Kinda strange. I would really hate to believe that they would not warn us in advance. |frown||/QUOTE|

I've actually read reports on the net about some Israelies who were arrested on the rooftop of a nearby building. Apparently they had cameras and stuff set up. Now THAT is sick. In that same article I also read that Sharon was supposed to be coming to NYC for a meeting of some sort, and he cancelled or postponed it or something. I know that a lot of stuff on the net is idiotic and all, but if there's any truth behind this, it's really disturbing. Anyone know of this stuff?

I had the opportunity recently to discuss this issue with a young man from Israel. He is terrified for his family that still lives there. I mentioned that it was my opinion that if someone "removed" Yassir Araphat that I believed that things could be resolved at least for a while. He grabbed my arm and said, If people everywhere thought like you, it would be so. Apparently in the Middle East Araphat is one of the prime motivators of terrorism. He just uses everyone else as a front. I found our that there is actually a movement to "remove" a large number of Middle Eastern and Europenan leaders. WOW, can you imagine the global effects that would have? Possibly WW3.

Crazy stuff going on! Here’s my two cents. Just observations and opinions.

I remember my father in law, who was retired from the service (now passed away) and had a top security clearance, told me many years ago that Yassir Araphat was the worst trouble maker in the mid east. I asked for specifics and he said he couldn’t talk about it. I believe not much would change if Araphat were gone. I think he would be gone if our government thought it would have made a difference. These people teach there children hate for one another from the day they are born. Sort of like bigotry is taught in some families here in our country but on a much wider basis. Look at Northern Ireland, again bigotry and region. The other thing is that they still live in a tribal way, fighting amongst themselves for land and property. Others will pick up where Araphat leaves off. If an honest peace loving person replaces Araphat the people that want war will kill him.

I tend to think logically but have to remind myself that these folks do not think this way, religion drives them and people that want to use these folks for their own agendas use religion to do it. Not unlike any country in the would but again to far greater extent. If they thought logically they would not think that God wants them to kill each other for the small bit of land they live on. I have an image of God looking down and shaking his/her head at these foolish people killing themselves for dirt that they think God created just for them.

I try to understand these people (both sides). I am sure the majority are everyday folks like us that want to work, support their families and live with some peace of mind. But there are “tribes” that have hateful agendas that seem to be very powerful. A person has to feel extremely helpless and hopeless (or mentally unstable) to commit suicide/homicide.

I also would like to know what these people mean when they say the US needs to look at it’s agenda in this region. Has our government done something to these people to piss them off? I can’t help but wonder why they are not angry at Canada, Mexico, South America, etc. I would like to know the rest of that story. What ever they think that may be I am sure the innocent people did not deserve to die for it.

What can America do? Personally I think we should remove ourselves from this fight between Israelis and Palestinians. How many times have you seen the well intentioned person break up a fight only to end up with the fighters beating the person that tried to stop them. We should continue to hunt down terrorist.

I can’t help of John Lennon’s song Imagine.

I was recently at a Homeland Security Briefing in DC and heard Rudolf Giuliani speak. He said some very profound things. Here is one quote, “We were attacked because of the things that are good about America. America is not perfect and has done some horrible things in it's past, but the people that attacked us did it because of the good that we believe in”.

I’d be glad to post other quotes from him if you like.

Sorry for running on, I guess my two cents turned into a dime. It’s good to talk about this.
