It is not widely known, but the most famous Allied spy during WW2 was a Czechoslovakian midget. He would impersonate someone who was mentally diminished and to the German Gestapo he was ignored as an ignorant fool. This allowed him to travel behind enemy lines ignored and provide military information to the allies.

While in Prague on a mission he was identified by a double agent and was actually being chased down the streets. Turning a corner he ran into a bakery and shouted "Hide me, the Gestapo is after me." The baker realizing what was happening quickly hide him in an oven that he had just turned off. While the Germans searched the bakery and all the stores on the street, they didn't find him. Later when he was removed from the oven, he was somewhat toastee, but alive. With the help of the underground he made it back to England where he spent the rest of the war.

After the war he returned to Prague and made his way to the bakery to thank the man who saved his life. Approaching the bakery he saw a plaque attached to the building commemorating his escape. The narrative concluded that the bakery was the first known store to cache a small Czech.
