Well, I'm back. Made a name change from Bry75229 to Bry58501 to reflect the move from Dallas To Bismarck. Got settled in alright. Miss the temps in Texas, but I'm adjusting to the cold up here. Threw my back out lifting boxes in Dallas - many shots and pills later, I'm fine now. I guess at 42 I can't lift like I'm 22.
Speaking of 42 - had my first eye exam on Monday, since leaving the USMC 10 years ago. Used to have 20/20 - now having to wear glasses for the first time, and they're bifocals to boot!
The vette engine/trans rebuild is done. Drives great , but there's something wrong with the Edelbrock carb, which no one seems to be able to fix - I'm being advised to switch it to a Holley. Any thoughts? Paint and body are next.
By the way, the shop I'm now using is Ressler Chevrolet which is across the river in Mandan, ND. Ressler is the guy who bought the oldest known vette ,1953 #003. http://www.thefirstcorvette.com/ He's got quite a collection. They sponser the local vette club, and my first meeting is this Saturday night.
Got ND tags for the vette: 1972 C3 I'll take a pic and send it to Adam soon.
I'm looking forward to the gathering this year. The vette runs, so I have no excuse not to be there.
Later,
Bryan

Hey Bry,
Congrats on completing the move, and welcome back.
While I can't comment on the card issue, I'd like to recommend that you spread the word about C3VR to your new club. Maybe the first meeting might be the wrong time to do it, but you can always print out a few C3VR Flyers and pass them out.
See you in Carson City!

Welcome back Bryan
I know how you feel about the eyes
When I retired from the Army in 2002 I had no problem with them at all, now I need glass to see anything closer then an arms length away

Glad to hear the move is done and you can get back to the forum.
You guys are lucky. I got glasses in 10th grade.
Had Lasik surgery done two years ago for distance correction so I don't need glasses for driving, but now I need them for reading and computer work.
I think back problems are the #1 health problem in the States, especially for guys like me that sit all day and don't do any physical work.
That's why I go to the health club every day.
But remember, you are only as old as you feel.
Stay positive. You still have many good years ahead of you.

Hey Bryan, we must have some kind of telepathic connection - I'm 42, retired military and hace a C3 with an Edelbrock carb also!!

Mine is on a streep/strip 327 that runs really, really strong.
PM me with the symptoms and I'll see if I can help you - I also have the carb manual and trouble shooting guide in soft copy so I can email that to you if you need it. They are very good, streetable carbs. I have one on the Vette and one in my dad's 74 Chevy pick up. Never had issues...

Good luck either way.

Hey Bryan! Ol' Man Winter was taking it easy on you to begin with. But it looks like he has finally woken up and decided to do a little catching up, at least in the temperature department...!!!
We haven't decided on a westward route for this summer yet but if we end up going through ND we'll let you know. On the way out we'd like to stop in Yellowstone and drop down through Grand Teton NP and Jackson Valley. We plan to be on the road for the 2nd half of June so still working on the wish list of places to visit before and after Carson City.
And if you find yourself in the Twin Cities area for any reason be sure to give a shout.
