Louis,
They've been around for a while, "Du Hast" ,and I'm only spelling it like it sounds, is one of my favorite songs.
Try this, if you ever go hunting, plug that into the headphones in the morning. My group thinks I'm psychotic when I do that.
Alan
P.S. They're right
I speak German as well as I do English, thanks to my wife and kids.
The Rammstein song is "Du Haesst", (the a actually has umlets over it).....translated "You Hate"
If you want to listen to some other bands try "Die Arzte" or "Den Toten Hosen"
I love Toten Hosen....but since most Americans don't understand the words..you ought to see the looks I get when I've got it blasting in the car. You'd think I was listening to Nazi Folk songs or something.
Favorite Toten Hosen Song: "Bonnie und Clyde"
Favorite Arzte Song : "Manchmal"
Du Hast actually translates into you saved me, most people think it is you hate me.
Du Hast is different than Du Haesst ! You were correct on the title. I never looked it up before.
You have vs. you hate. The song has a double meaning Here is a quote taken from the Rammstein website.
" When Till is just saying "Du hast," it sounds as if he could either be saying "Du hast" (you have) or "Du hasst" (you hate). This is to give the song a double meaning, even though the official lyrics say "Du hast." "
Wir koennen auch in deutsch reden wann es dir lieber ist?
