My Stepson is currently serving in the Air Force in Japan, where he has been TDY to Korea for most of the tour.  They have two of the grandbabies over there (DAMMIT).

Anyway, he called EARLY this morning to let us know he had made Tech.  They had his stripes waiting for him at the bottom of the C-130 when he got off the plane last nite!

Looks like they may be closing his job down (Egress Instructor) over there so he should be moving by May next year at the latest.  He's hoping for Elmendorf, Alaska.  He was there early in his career and loves it.  We made the pilgrimage up there 4 times and I see why he loves it.

Anyway, had to brag.  I'm real proud of him.  He's decided he wants to stay in and go for Chief and I think he could be a real chief, not just an E-8.

Thanks to all who serve and have family serving!

Congrats..Tech is a bitch, it's the bottle neck rank.  Tell him Master is a bit easier..at least it was in my career field.

Congrats, Dennis!  That's a BIGGIE!  My oldest son also made Tech in C-130s not too long ago (flight engineer) and I think it's pretty cool (even for an old Army type). AK would be a kickin' tour!  Ain't kids great???

I don't have a clue what you zoomies are talking about,
Tech, Tach LOL  As an old Army guy for 23 years I never really learned the Air Forces Rank but I'm going to assume he made either his E6 or E7. Either way Congratz to him, I'm sure your proud Thumbs%20Up  And thank him from me for his service, also tell him to stick with it, military retirement isn't all that bad Wink

He made E-6 (Technical Sergeant)...damn grunts, gotta give them comic books to make them read...
