You certainly have my prayers. Four years ago I lost my German Shepherd to lymphoma...she never showed any symptoms of a problem until she had reached stage five out six stages. She had just turned eight and should have been in the prime of her life...such a wonderful, beautiful and intelligent pet. It's always difficult to lose a pet, but even more so for no apparent reason. I still have her younger sister, now over twelve years old and in the twilight of her life...at least she's healthy and still a puppy...an old puppy but a puppy all the same.
My prayers are with you.

Well - all the good thoughts, prayers, chants and well wishes seem to have worked!
I just got a call from the Dr. and the operation is over and was a complete success! He's awake now - very groggy - but doing fine!! They'll keep him semi-sedated today so he sleeps and then tomorrow they will work with him to get him up and standing and then walking.
What a huge relief that part is over with. I know it's not cured, but at least he's going to be out of pain for now and that was the important part.
Thank you all for your support in postings here and the ones who sent private emails. It was so nice to hear from everyone.
I get to pick him up on Friday
but I'll post an update when I hear tomorrow. I'm a little anxious about seeing him without his leg, but it will be so good to see him out of pain that I'm sure it will be fine.

My "little boy" is home! YAY!
He's pretty sleepy from all the meds, but he's doing well and getting around really well.
Now we start the recovery and then we'll see where this all takes us.
Just glad to have our baby back home...

Thank Goodness!

That's great news Eric! Glad he's home.
I myself never had a dog growing up, but we have a dog now and I have to admit... they do become a member of the family.

Update: The pup is doing really well! It's amazing how well he's getting around on 3 legs now. He's now starting to act more like himself again too - which really helps.
Once the bruising went away things started to really look better. His hair is now starting to come back as well.
Next week we take him back to have the staples removed and to consult with the Oncologist about next steps. We've decided against the Chemotherapy so we'll be talking about some alternative options.
Thanks to all for your concern. We didn't cure the disease, but we have helped him and he's no longer in pain trying to carry the leg. We just pray that the cancer doesn't grow too fast.

We have had people to go to war,we have had friends to be sick, and even friends to pass away. But, C3VR family always sticks together. Why would anyone want to leave this site.
