ths is a question for some of the fiberglass and body work experts here..
i need to fix my hottub.. the dog ruined the cover and it sat exposed to sunlight for a few weeks while i was out of town a last year.. it cracked.. i tried using a fiber fill in the cracks. it stuck but left a "scum line"
so i dug the holes out more with a dremel to about a 1/4" wide
im planning to fill it with "bondo brand" fiberglass resin jelly... is this the right stuff..
now for part two.. i need it to be blue. so is there something i can mix with this to turn it blue.. or can i paint it with something..
if paint.. it needs to survive brominated water..
thanks

BAD DOG! The jelly will probably work, but you still need to use some fiber. When I was restoring antique boats, I found a place in South Carolina that sold all kinds and colors of polyester and epoxy resins. I'll try to find the name for you.
You may want to use an epoxy on the tub, it's more resilient than 'glass and produces a better secondary bond. As far as the paint, there are pool coatings that should stand up to the chemicals in your tub. Check to see if you have a pool supply place near you. Other than that, again I'd look at epoxy coatings for the color or even Imron (if it's still available).
