Jim, so sorry for your loss.  I know you wouldn't request it but I've been in your position a couple of times recently and it seems common to give a cash gift(?) at the wake around here instead of flowers. Insurance sometimes doesn't cover everything and cash could go for the after funeral "luncheon" or whatever else might be needed. Lot of additional expenses.(We paid for a family member's trip up for the funeral) Or forward it to a charity of your choosing. Anyway, I'm in for whatever is decided.  Mike

Jim, My condolance at your loss of your father. Both my parents died early, in the 60's, and I was still in my 20's. It's alway hard to handle, but it gets better with time and you remember the good times. What ever we can do to help, just ask.

Thanks everyone!  My Dad LOVED to fly so of the three places we chose for memorials to go to I think the EAA's Young Eagles program would be his first choice.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the address below and simply designated, "in memory of Arvid Olson."  The gifts will be logged in his memory and designated for the Young Eagles program.  Each person sending in a memorial will receive a thank you from EAA. 

Sorry I haven't been around the forum lately Jim. It's been a busy summer for us. Michele and I are sorry to here about your Dad. He's in a better place now. If you need anything, just give us a call anytime.
