Well, how do you feel on the Pledge issue? I think it is rediculous that we are wasting our time bickering over it, especially with all these other issues going on in the world today. If we continue with rulings such as this one, it will soon be against the law for anyone to do anything. If you don't agree with the phrase "one nation under God" then don't say it. Never once did I have a teacher yell at me to speak up because she couldn't hear me say it. Its time to take some action against being "Politically Correct." People have gone too far with its purpose.

I agree! Good thing it was just 3 dumb judges in San Francisco. Them and Santa Barbara are always making stupid rulings. We just had a BIG TIME murder case here in Ventura County. Seems this guy ran this young girl off the 23 freeway (about 5 minutes from Steves pad) and murdered her. Seems he followed her home from a friends house. Then, a judge in SB decided to throw out the Grand Jury ruling.....my aunt Margy is on the Grand Jury.....she don't tell us nothin though! lol Anyhow, the reason he threw it out was this....not enough women on the Grand Jury! LOL Does he honestly think it would've gone better for the dude if there was? What a dumb jerk of a judge! The case has since been refiled by the DA's office, and more charges! I love when that happens!

Who the hell comes up with these |cussing| |cussing| court cases anyway? has no-one noticed that our freedom to BE is under question thanks to some "people" in the middle east. I don't know why bin ladin bothered....with people like whomever complained about the pledge....we won't HAVE freedom, we won't have anything. if people like that continue to ravage our country, we will leave nothing for the barbarians. Rome at least was brought down by an outside force(for the most part). Here in America our freedom of speech is being used to limit our freedom of speech by people and rulings like that. I'm not a practicing Christian, and I understand the seperation of church and state....but sheesh!! It was created to instill pride in young Americans, and damnit....it was successful(at least with me) what we need is not people picking every detail of this country apart because it is such a bad place to live....we need people who will realize that the people on the streets of our nation's capitol are in the TOP 5% of the RICHEST people IN THE WORLD!! I'm not saying the pledge is a must to have that, but damnit....a little pride in our country? PLEASE?

Sorry for the rant, little bit touchy after Sept 11(watched from Nwk and missed being there by 24hrs)...and then seeing everyone be so "patriotic"...and now...nothing....people still know what happened, and why we're fighting, but nobody seems to have the pride that they had in the weeks following....now its back to the normal old apathy....Sickening. especially since people INSIDE our nation are doing things like removing the Pledge of Allegiance from our schools so soon after such a small thing became SO important. |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| |cussing| OK, no more. really...sorry.

I think the whole thing is really stoopid.
Our money says ''IN GOD WE TRUST'' are they gonna decide THAT is unconstitutional as well!!!???

I am so proud to be an American...(since I have only been one for just over a year)..and I take that very seriously!!!!..there is nuthing wrong with the Pledge or the National Anthem.

Hell I think they should let the kids say the Lord's Prayer in school!!!!!

Didn't hurt ''us'' any....look how kids are today????? Coincidence!!??? not likely!!!

not that I am a practicing Christian or any thing like that.but I do think that things were better years ago..and some of THOSE principles should be reinstated...give the KIDS something to be PROUD of!!!!!!!! Proud to be an American and putting the fear of ''GOD'' in them!

Let me chime in here too. i agree with everything that has already been said, so I won't repeat it. i can't believe that this country is in a downward spiral and some yahoo decides to bring up this trivial BS. And then have the Ba### tosay that the reason he was doing it was so some others wouldn't say it. This shows what people think of this country where you can do anything you want. They put is on the currency and in the "Pledge" after Pearl harbor. And now after Sept 11 you think some people would want to have this in there and show patriotism (which was why it was put in there in the first place).
I agree with the fact that all of the kids today don't give a sh## and think everything is a joke and have no respect for anything. i see it everyday in my profession, and they think this is funny.
If I pulled half of the crap that kids do toady, my father would have killed me. But then again, my father and mother took the time to spend it with my brother and I. Not like today where all anyone cares about if themselves.
There I'm done and sorry about the rant, but this issue and those like piss me off.
Chris has left his soapbox

Chris, Debbie, Others.....thank god....I thought I was going nuts, this thing makes me SO MAD, and I thought I was the only one...thought somethin' must've been wrecked upstairs somewhere....I'm curious what Debbie meant about only bein' American for a year...I'm really biting my tongue trying to avoid that soap box...I guess I'll stick to and you can quote this...Only in America could a kid get 17 years of education, and still not have been in school for half their life, only in America can the lowest man on the street still afford the basics of life. Only In America can so few create so much, and only in America, can one person ANY PERSON change everything.

Scot, I heard on the news earlier today that the same judge just put a stop on his own ruling, waiting for the curcuit court to rule or something. I guess this was just another big waste of time.

Well, In a sense it gave everyone a chance to realize how important America is and if he completely overturns his ruling on this i think the nation will have grown as a whole. and the one poor pathetic atheist who can't have his child's ears tormented by the word "god"...I quote Homer J. Simpson - "If you don't like it, GO TO RUSSIA!!!" Ugh...only in America

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Some Judges really SUCK!!
