POLL: Military Trusts Bush over Kerry

WASHINGTON — A new poll indicates that members of the military and military families trust President Bush over John Kerry (search) to be commander-in-chief, by a three-to-one margin.

The National Annenberg Election Survey (search) found that Bush was more trusted by 69 percent of those polled, while 24 percent say they trusted Kerry more.

Among all Americans, Bush is more trusted to be commander-in-chief over Kerry by an edge of 50 to 41.

Overall, the survey found military members and their families favoring Bush more than Americans do generally, and taking a more optimistic view about Iraq, the economy and the nation's direction.

The people in the military sample were far more likely to be Republicans than Democrats, which could help explain Bush's edge. About 43 percent say they're Republicans. Nineteen percent say they're Democrats and 27 percent call themselves independents.

It doesnt matter how many polls,facts,etc are supplied to Kerry supporters.Its looking like if Kerry walked off a cliff tomorrow,there would be much less population problems in some parts of our great country. |saluteflag|

Even if I liked some of the *&$@)!# he said,I cant vote for a guy that talks the North Vietnamese while his comrades are still in country and the Hanoi Hilton,then presents the enemys case for them.Then he comes home and protests the war,after injuring himself,getting a Purple Heart,and sent stateside.Meanwhile,I lose my father in Danang,a real hero who spent 30 years fighting for us all in 3+ wars. http://www.virtualwall.org/dm/MartinHC01a.htm

|headscratch| did you hear the latest. Nite line channel 7 wanted to clear up the contraversy about Kerrys tales in Viet Nam when he got the silver star. what did they do. They went to viet nam and found, you got it , the viet cong that set up the ambush on the river edge,and they remember kerry. And I'm santa claus. The problem is that in kerrys own book he says that there was only 1 person and he thanked God for that. The viet cong said there was a squad of 12. Nite line didn't bother asking the americans that were there they asked the communists our enemies, people that are told what to say and when to say it. Mind you,Kerrys picture still hangs in the war museum in ho chi min city as a war hero for his efforts for the viet cong defeating the united states. Nite line went with the story they got from the enemy rather than this countrys own war heros. NOTHING LIKE GETTING TO THE BOTTOM OF THINGS. U.S.M.C 1969 1972 |saluteflag|

I saw last nite on Fox,that a reporter who interviewed some soldiers,etc and with quotes from Kerry also,is going to have aired, a documentary about the truth concerning his war stories.It looks like some light might finally be shed on his fabricated exploits.Some in my opinion,bring the word traitor to mind.But,I'm afraid,the wool will continue to be pulled over alot of Kerry believers eyes,that is,the ones who dont have them closed. |saluteflag|Semper Fi!
