Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.

I am forty five, seem to be the middle child again around this site.  I told the wife that I have lived half of my life, don't see me living past ninty, and that the first 30 I was wasted, drunk, rebellious, stupid, and or ignorant, and the last fifteen I have been clean and sober and a good person in the community, a part of this world, positive energy, (meeting Dee-Dee helped), so to shake it up and look at it I have only been a productive person in this world for a thrid of my life, that is pretty damn sad...................

Larry, there is nothing to be sad about.  The fact that you are now in good shape for 15 years says a lot.  Someone who was down and pulled theselves back up has a lot of respect in my book.  It a great achievement.  My hat is off to you.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

42 y/o here!  Like Larry, I too had too many vices the first 30 years or so of life.  Got married at 32 and adopted (3) children in the process...(oldest is 29 and a middle school teacher, the younger two are soon to turn 18 and 16), paid for a wedding last year, and NOT looking forward to the next 6 years of college tuition.  Was able to purchase my first (and current) vette at 36, and since it is paid for, I consider it a decent trade for my prior Dazed and Confused days.

Have been clean and sober (most of the time) for the past 10 years, with the occassional socializing drink, or couple beers while working in the pole barn, but let's face it...I just can't afford those vices anymore!  Would I still indulge if I COULD afford them?  Probably not.  Life's too short to spend it in a haze anymore.

Unfortunate inevitability for us all is that we all get older, without exception.  The bright spot is...I still feel 18 whenever I sit in my vette!

Happy Birthday Norb!  And may you enjoy many more!
