I can't say anything any better than what these guys have. I've been there, too and there's not a worse feeling in the world. But it's the price we pay for all that these great dogs give us. I don't know anyone in that situation that doesn't second guess themselves - waited too long or didn't wait long enough, whatever. Just know that you did the best you could for your buddy. And you gave a dog a chance that didn't have one and 10 great years. People who adopt strays and shelter dogs are the greatest!
