So my thoughts and every best wish go out to you and Little Bit. Those of us who are animal lovers understand--and hopefully that will be a source of some comfort to you...

To all my friends here who have taken time to express their concern, thank you. The last few days have been rough, both for Deb and myself but especially for "B". Tuesday this started, whatever it is. She spends the day at the vet hooked up to an IV to keep her hydrated until they can determine the problem. Friday it was determined that she needs further diagnosis as there has been no improvement. This testing would require surgery, or at the least an endoscope that would mean general anesthesia. In her weakened condition, I don't care what the vet thinks, I don't think she would survive it. They would be looking for cancer of the bowel. We figured if they did find cancer, we wouldn't fight it. We'd make her comfortable for the time she has left. Today is kind of a test, no drugs to see her reaction. Doesn't look good. We're supposed to bring her back for the iv hookup again tomorrow.
Little Bit is the smallest of our 5 Yorkys tipping the scale at 2 pounds. Not even that now. Wife has mentioned having her put to sleep(she's as heartbroken as I am) but I need to give it a little more time. She doesn't appear in pain, just sleepy and wobbly when she tries to move around. But she won't eat. Last year just before Thanksgiving we had to have her father put to sleep. He was 15 and had been sickly for the last year of his life. He finally completely shut down. Was the hardest thing I ever did in my life, holding his limp body as the vet gave that shot. I'm just not ready to do that yet.
Of the other 4 dogs, her best buddy Wrigley, who's 2, can't figure out what's wrong. They usually play chase, 9 year old B doing the chasing. Wrigley will sit on my lap now looking from me to B as if telling me to fix this.
This is my B last summer...
