Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
I seem to know less about puters than vettes, hard to believe, today while playing on the net, no not those sites, I have developed something strane on my laptop, will do best to describe, any help would be great, cuz other wise this thing is going in the crapper>>>
1) in tool bar area now have icon that flashes and pops up this bubble that reads the following "system alert, system has dectected a number of active spyware applications that may impact performance of 'puter click icon to get rid of unwanted spyware by downloading an up to the date antispyware solution" when you do anything to that bubble or flashing icon it opens up an I.E. tab with this in it: (spelled with spaces so the hyperlink won't work) www. s p y l o c k e d . c o m /? a f f = 334
I have spywarebot and noadware and nortons internet security on this laptop, ran full scans and this thing will not go away. (p.s. little bubbles keeps popping up in tool bar area) ( can click on small x and it will close, until to pop back up, about 3 minutes or so.)
2) I have this great website set as my default home page, guess which page, no not that one either, so since that friggin' little flashing icon has appeared when ever I click on my I.E. icon to open up c3vr it opens up into a small window with a web page in the background, small window reads: windows internet explorer warning w 3 2.  m y z o  r. f k at  y f  with a large description after it with 2 boxes one reads cancel think othe one reads go? amyway no matter what box you click it takes you to these 2 pages (spacing for your protection) m a l w a  r e w i p e d . c o m /? a i d = 246 and if that ain't crazy enough the other site that comes up is: h t t p : // a s e c u r i t y v e i w . c o m  I have tried to add and remove this spylocked program, and try to do a restore point, have tried to search it out in window explorer, i have tried to figure out how to make it stop happening when I start up, have rebooted several times.  reallt pisses me off. thanks hope you all can understand and maybe even help.

Stop using IE, for one! I started using Mozilla FireFox, and since then I haven't had ANY of that stoopid crap come up on me. You can download Mozilla and install it. It is just a different browser, and I don't get any "cookies", viruses, or spyware crap anymore. Most of that stuff is attached to IE...I ain't no 'puter geek, so I can't help much, but it do look like you got a spyware program stuck to ya. Stay off them porno sites!!!
(just kidding!!)
I have AVG Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware, as well as AdAware, Spy Subtract, Windows Defender, and some other MS virus program, so far, so good. AVG is excellent, as far as I can tell, as is AdAware.
Thing is, you have to run these things every day in order to catch some of the nasties before they dig in, and set up shop. At least that's what I do.
Someone here will help get you back in good health.
Hope it ain't too bad.

Switching to Firefox won't solve the issue you already have, but it will help keep it from happening again in the future.

Adam is right,  Firefox is the way to go.  Here are a couple of other programs that work wonders for your PC and they are free.   Do a Google search on "CCLEANER"  and  "ADVANCED WINDOWSCARE".  These two applications will keep your 'puter' running fast and strong.

As Joel stated, I have Adaware & AVG anti-vi free edition. I run Adaware every day and it will always pick up tracking cookies or adware. Plus it finds un-needed registry files. Sometimes adware will attach its self to needed registry files and can be tough to remove. Maybe look in your program files and see if its there so you can uninstall or delete. I don't use Firefox, but I used to on my old PC. I don't know how these hackers get in, but I do know it can be tough to get them out. Sorry I can't be more help. I know I've been there, but not sure how I fixed it. Is there a puter doctor in the crowd!!!

Vette(s): 1977 #s matching Orange L48 4-speed and a 2000 Black FRC 6-speed BOTH SOLD :(
Larry
First, make sure you have the latest virus definition for the anti-virus program you are runnning as well as the latest updates for any spyware or adware programs.  next restart your computer in the safe mode and run each of those programs separately.  Then restart your computer and let it boot up normally.

If the problem still exists, you'll need to dig a little deeper.  Keep me informed as to your progress.  I work with this on almost a daily basis.  Good luck.

PS      If a popup appears and says that you have some type of virus and asks if you want to remove it, NEVER click Yes (unless you're absolutely sure that the popup was created by your anti virus software).  By cklicking Yes, you are actually installing a program that will do exactly what you're describing.

# 1...I think when you first start the puter up, if you push the F8 key, it will go into safe mode...

# 2...You don't have to delete IE...just don't use it!

I have to connect to the net using IE, because that's what my service is tied to. Once I am on-line, I click the "Stop" icon on the toolbar, and then I start the Mozilla browser. But...that's just how my ISP is set up. The one at the shop doesn't work that way. It starts when I click the Mozilla icon, right away.

Larry just like Joel said, you enter safe mode by hitting an F key during start up, don't remember which but it will tell you on the screen.

I've linked this site before but here it is again Cybrtechelp.  This is a free site full of Computer Geeks who are just waiting for people to help.  Just register (for free) and post away your problems.  They have never failed in helping me fix many problems to include that www. s p y l o c k e d . c o m that you have.  Sorry I don't remember what we did to fix it.  Good luck.
