Gene,

A BIG THANKS to you and all on this site and everywhere past and present who have served.

My stepson is in Korea (detached out of Kadena, Okinawa) and says lest we forget, Kim Jung Il, the syphillis ridden bastard that he is, is looking for us to show any sign of weakness or loss of resolve.  He would LOVE to push past the 38th parallel and prove how cowards run their countries.

I am thankful for ALL our serving men and women and proud of them.  May they have God's grace surrounding them 24/7.

I met a retired SGT. Major today. He was a dog handler in Viet Nam. He is truly an amazing gentleman. Today he is a search and rescue dog handler still giving back to his community. A great American indeed. I shook his hand and thanked hin for his service.

Hey Ace what a great message, I wish everyone in the country could read it. War is hell, I know because I have been there. Its also neccesary because there are so many people in this world who refuse to believe in peace and want to take what we have away from us. Gene (Nam Vet 1968-69) Please remember our dead soldiers.

This must be one of those unanswered questions of the universe. I wonder why there wasn't room for this thread on Mem. weekend Confused. Nice try anyway Joel.

Um...I started this thread Friday...(I didn't notice Paul(LukesVette) had already started one)...am I missing something?

It all good...the point is that we need to remember the brave folks that keep us free, and have for MANY years paid the ultimate price for that freedom.Adams' Apple2007-05-28 14:08:44

This morning we had a Memorial Day parade in our little town.
I drove a WWII veteran in my Vette and we had a dedication ceremony at the village hall. The school band played and everyone prayed for all our service men and women. Great day and wonderful turnout.

Then I went to a local cemetery that was proudly decorated with hundreds of American flags.

As long as we continue to do this every year, we will never forget our heroes.

that is so true dwight. was in a memorial day parade here too with my 90 vette. grand son drove with me. we both had on shirts for the viet nam memorial in new jersey as my brother's name is on it. was a great sight to see all the people waving flags and remembering those that died. what was even better was this afternoon , i happenned to check my email and there was one from a lt. col. said he was at the viet nam wall in dc and took a picture of one of the panels with a beautiful sunset and trees behind it and then decided to research some of the names on that panel. it turned out it was the one that has my brothers name on it. thanks to ALL the people who gave their lives so we can live the way we do. i also want to thank the people serving today that continue giving their all so we can still live the way we do.Thumbs%20Up
