Ken,
I'm so sorry to hear of this. Your wife will be in my family's prayers. And if there is anything that your family here (I think I can speak for the majority that have had nothing but great interactions and friendships with you) can do for you, don't be embarassed. That's what family's are for.
God bless. Hope your wife recovers quickly.

As impossible as it may first appear, enjoy every minute you share with your precious family this Christmas season. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and we hope the new year will bring you much deserved health and happiness.
Merry Christmas from another member of your extended family.
Well here is the latest. The doctors at this time are thinking that the problems are a result of the medications she is taking. She has been on them for several months. One of them had been increased due to the fact the levels were very low, then later the levels were too high and the dose was reduces again. The recent blood test shows the level of this med was close to toxic, dispite the reduce dose. It is designed to control seizures from the brain damage from the infection.
I now know that this drug, while one of the best for her problems, is very reactive to other conditions and medicines. It can respond with varying levels remaining in the body depending on what else occours. That is one of the reasons for the bi weekly blood samples they were doing. To monitor the levels, among other things.
Other than that I have no other news or diagnosis at this time. We don't know anything for sure. More when I know.
