Topic: Rough for her
in Forum: Humor
During the last couple of weeks my daughter and I both got a stomach virus. Each of us did not move from the couch for two days, then we were fine.
But my wife is not. Still trying to recover from the brain infection, and still in poor shape, she aquired this or something similar.
She has not been able to keep any thing down, not one bite of anything, for almost two weeks. As a result she has become even weaker than before. She cannot stand or walk on her own at all. We need to hold her up to get her to the bathroom or to bed. The doctors tried one medication that did not help. Two days later, more medicines. Still she just got worse and weaker.
Yesterday she was admitted back into the hospital. Oddly enough, she is in the same room and bed she was last time. They suspect a gastric outlet restriction, which is an inflamation on the small intestions at the outlet of the stomach. They are doing more testing today to confirm this, or see what else they find. Today is Christmas Eve. She will be there for at least three days, maybe more.
The brain infection has improved. But there is still brain damage which cannot yet be fully assesed. She wants more than anything to be able to drive. At this time I have my doubts that will ever happen. Time will tell. I love this woman. We met in highschool and started dating. She is the only girlfriend I have ever had, or wanted.
I will let you know what happens.
Ken,
I was pretty happy with the progress I made on my car today, but when it comes down to it, family is truly first on the list of importance.
I wish you & the family all the best during the holiday season, and into 2006.
Best wishes,
Anthony

Your family has been and will reamin close to our hearts in prayer during this Christmas season. I have been married to the same high school sweetheart for 28 years and I probally wouldn't function as well as I do without her. Hang in there!!!

Ken,
Sorry to hear your wife had to go back to the hospital, especially for Christmas. Your family will be in our prayers on this special eve.
Have a Merry Christmas as best you can.
Glen and Julia
PS
I will be taking the family to Portland for a week so I won't be able to check in on wife's progress. I really hope she will be back home with you soon.
