Just got back from a little R&R with the family in sunny SOCAL. Just wanted to show what a piece of a truck tire will do at 70MPH. My wife was pelted with glass and her legs were cut up and riddled with glass. Luckily she was wearing glasses or things would have been much worse.

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.

thank god your wife and you are okay!!!  I saw a chunk of tire fly up a hit a little rice burner last summer in eastern Wa.  freaked me out could only imagine what it did to the chick in the car it hit, hit on drivers side winshield.

Hope the healing is fast.....

Glad you're safe. Scary... I agree with all above...
Here in SOCAL it seems we risk our lives on the freeway system everyday
(looks like the I-5 in the pic?) as a lot of the local trucks are unregistered
and rarely secured (I now have a 1/4th inch pit in the '72 windsheld from
loose nut from a truck).
I Hope the rest of the trip was OK.... but I'm sure you'll never want to
drive here again!

Sorry to hear about the mishap, but at least you guys weren't seriously hurt. It could have been a lot worse.
