Must be in there air.  Sunday on the way to church going up I 65 North.  We were second car in line getting ready to pass a older motorhome towing a car when the front tire on the motorhome blew out sending it into the lefthand lane running the mini van that was directly infront of us into the median.  They lost control of the van sending it flipping into the air onto its room.  Before that it was sideways and all I could think about was the mini van shooting back out of the median in front of us at 65 mph.

I managed to negotiate over into the far right out of the lanes of traffic and got to a stop just as the mini van flipped.  So we were first on scene dialling 911.  Luckily no one was hurst just bruised and shaken.  They were in their 70's.

Glad to here no one on your end was hurt.  I Had my three little ones with me it freaked them out.

Glad everyone is doing ok.....Wish we would have known you were coming to the land of the 'Wild Bunch".  We could have showed you some good stuff........What part of SOCAL were you in?

I hope it was a rental car.....You know, they ARE better than regular cars....They go over curbs better than regular cars and run longer with no fluids too!!! Also run longer on flat tires

Guess I'll have to make a trip to St Charles! LOL! Was there last September.  (was born there). Took a trip through Fastlane and saw all the reasonably over-priced cars for sale there......

Hope the rest of your trip was uneventful,

Glad your wife is ok aside from the cuts and the scare- thats unfortunately a very common occurrance- if youre ever driving along the interstate, you will see those damn chunks of tire littering the shoulder. i always wondered why the DOT hasnt outlawed those retreaded tires. thats what the debris is from- the retreads flying off the tires of some trailer. they might save a trucking company some money on tires, but they are definately not safe on the highways. That just really p***ses me off that its allowed.

Man I had that happen to me a few years ago on I78 in NJ.  A retread came apart on a semi about 30 yards infront of me.  I just taken delivery of a Mazda Protege5. Thankfully I didnt get it in the windshield but it took out my bumper, airdam and hood.  Its not pleasant.  I had a few extra beers at the Mets game that night.  Safety glass is a beautiful thing.  Thank you Preston Tucker!  Glad things werent too serious.

Indeed scary stuff.

A couple of weeks ago my daughter and I were in the Celebrity on I77 south.   The entire left rear tire came off of a step van bread deliverly truck.  It bounce across the highway, hit the center concrete divider, and launched about 30 feet in the air.  It came back down hit the highway, and went somewhere to place unknow.  We were on an overpass and I wonder if it went down to Arlington street.  I'm not sure where it went.

There were a lot of brakes applies, and some lane dodging.  No one got hit by the tire or other cars.  The truck make it safely off the highway and came to a stop.  Amazing.
