Thank God for the states that recognize the the RTKBA ! Unfortunately even though my wife and I have NJ pistol permits, and I'm a certified instructor, in NJ unless you're related to the Gov (former) (or his lover) (sorry I just couldn't help that) You don't stand a chance of getting a "Shall issue" permit.
H e l l, you can't shoot a perp who assaulted you in your house in NJ unless he has you cornered, and you can't escape ! To make matters worse you may still get prosecuted and get sued.
I hope I never have to go through that, because I/m not waiting to catch a beating, and I'm not running to escape my own house.
One in the head, two center mass, and off to jail I'll go.

Remember, dead men can't testify.
there's a saying I learned in the academy...
"I'd rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6."

Hey Cookie, does your wife still teach in Newark? I would not take that job on a bet! I went to Newark College of Engineering back in the 60's and it was bad then. I won't even drive thru there during the day anymore!

Dave she sure does at Lafayette St. school. What a small world, I lived 2 block down from NCE before they demolished the whole area to build Rutgers.
