Topic: Scheme to "reduce gun violence"?
in Forum: Humor
Bryan, I was raised by a Korean War Marine who taught me well how to handle firearms and other "non-traditional" weapons. My choice of hunting weapon is the M-1 Garand.
I guess it is possible that in the good Mayor's circles, it is the minority opinion however, I would rather not live in a place that won't let me protect myself now that the police protect the populous and not the individual.
Here in OK, gun control means center of mass, 3 out of 3.

As a Special Forces Soldier for the last 25 years, I have had the opportunity to travel and work in many foreign countries. The opinions of Americans varies around the world. However, it is consistently believed that we all have guns and the "Wild West" style of having shootouts in the street still occur. Many people believe that no one would attempt to invade us because they would have to fight every "Armed Civilian" in the country. It is ironic that in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, every civilian is armed, yet that statement is no longer tru here in the US of A. If you have never read about England's gun control laws, you should do a little research and see what truly happens when you take away the law abbiding citizens right to bear arms. I know of one specific case where a man secretly kept his shotgun, all weapons were supposed to be turned in. A criminal broke into his house, thretened the life of his wife, the man got his gun and killed the would be rapist/murderer. He did this in his living room after the criminal broke into their home. The home owner was sentenced to a minimum 10 years in prison. Talk about a system that has completely lost itself in the bullsh*t!
As they say, when it becomes illegal to own guns, only criminals will have guns and the law abbiding citizens will live in fear. We do not have enough law enforcement today, in a world without citizens defending themselves, we would need a cop at every corner, 24/7.
A small town, north of Atlanta, made a law about 10-12 years ago, that if you lived in th city limits of the town, it wasrequired that you owned a gun! People rushed to buy, the local news carried the storyfor weeks, and within 60 days, there was virtually no more violent crime. To this day,the town has the lowest crime rat in the state. The local news (very liberal) does not bother to report this fact though.
That was Kennesaw GA. God Bless them, they passed that law in response to what Morton Grove Ill. did, which was the exact opposite. They decided that no one who live in Morton Grove could own/posse any type of firearm at any time for any reason !
