Oh c'mon now, Bob...you know we're jess funnin!
That's a nice ride ya got there yerself!

I'm having h-e-double "L" with the title on this bike...it's a long story, but so far, I still haven't gotten it. I've seen it, I've held it in my grubby little paws. but it's been a MAJOR pita to this point... I'm actually just about ready to tell this guy to give me my cash back, and he can contact me when he gets it fixed, or I'll look somewhere else...
I'll fill in da blanks later...right now I'm just so dam angry, and disgusted...

Smile i didn`t take it personal Adam. just had to tease ya a bit. i had some title problems with a bike a few years ago. ended up having to get a lawyer. and costing me 30% of what the bike cost me. anyway i hope you get it straightened out.

This is a messed up deal...
The guy I bought the bike from bought it from his friend last Oct. The friend signed the title, and so did the guy I bought from, but he never changed it over to his name... He forgot that he had signed the title. SO...he says he'll take care of it.
He gets this "Statement of Fact" form from DMV, that is supposed to allow us to get the title in our name, but...he says "Just white-out my name, and put in your name. My car salesman buddy says they do it all the time like this, and it's no problem." Yeah...right...
Mama goes to the DMV yesterday....guess what? DMV says, "No way Jose...we can't accept a title with white-out on it...sorry...have a nice day."
So now...we've got to get the original owner(the friend) to go to the DPS/DMV and get a certified copy of the title, and have him sign it to me. Problem is, I don't know this other guy, so I got to get the guy I got it from to get the other guy to do all this crap....

All of this just so I can save some $$$$ on fuel...

i feel for ya brother...  lesson learned, never buy a vehicle that isn`t title by the person you bought it from. Except a legitimate dealer. try calling the original owner and see if you can get him to take care of it by mail. or maybe get the guy you bought the bike from to help you with the fuel $$$$$..  no wait a minute... if the original guy signed the title   the guy you bought it from can get it title and then sign it to you . see if you can work a deal on the cost of title. or have him sign the bike over as a gift . you save tax.. which could offset some of the title work. does this make sense to you? goog luck

We'll get it worked out, one way or 'nuther...it just peezes me off that I can't really do anything with it yet, until I know it is legally mine. I was planning on doing some detail work on it this week-end...

Must be a common thing.  The guy I got mine from had it a year, only rode it about 100 miles and never moved it to his name.  Luckily he works at a used car lot and they know how to handle that stuff.  Good thing.  I drove 6 hours to get mine and would be really pissed if I got home and the DMV would not have let it pass.
