I know it's been a LLOONNGG long time from my last visit, so it thought I would bring everyone up to date.
My C3 will appear in the same magazine again next spring or summer. Only this time it will be a body repair, paint, and custom paint article!
The reason for my MIA. I am teaching at the college, Monday to Friday. Working repairing and installing mobility equipment and scooters on Saturday, and selling parts at Autozone on Sunday. These add up to between 70 and 75 hours a week, counting driving time.
Then I spend around 3 to 5 hours an evening about 3 or four times a week helping Debbie get to stores, grocery shopping, and just getting things done in general. My daughter Meg does a lot of house work, I do the rest. I do all of the outside maintance at home, and take care of the vehicles. My typical week takes up about 90 hours. Sometimes I sleep. The rest of the time is spent with my family relaxing, with a very small amount for me. Today is the sixth day off I have had this year. Monday will be number 7.
But that's okay. I'm not complaining, so please don't think that I am. It is just what I have to do to take care of my family. I just want folks to understand why I have missed so much time here, with my extended family.
Debbie is almost holding steady, but not quite. She can still drive, and walk a bit, but wears out VERY quickly. She cannot do any house work. She can somewhat care for herself, and does all right when we are not home. Getting to the bathroom and back requires a rest. She can get to the van by herself, but it is a MAJOR task. That trip is difficult without Meg or I to help. When Meg helps, she can drive after a bit of a rest.
I fear that not using the muscles enough are making them weaken, but she is too weak to do any more than she does. I have no idea what the answer to that one is going to be. Time will tell. At least her mind is good ( about 90 % of what it was) and she is still with me. I'm very lucky for that. I do love that woman.
Now here is the really neat one.

It will go into the body shop at the college early October. The students will do the work. The supplies will be donated due to the article. I will stop over a couple times a day to take pictures and keep track of what is going on, then write the article.
The college gets national press. The paint supplier gets national press. The magazine gets a great article. I get my car's body finished. Not that's a win win!

Just thought I would get everyone up to date. Gotta go for now, I will be back on tonight, and again on Monday.

That's great news all around. Getting the Vette painted is the icing on the cake.

You sound like a very proud husband, father and teacher - as you should be. It's wonderful that you remain so positive with all the work and responsibilty you willingly take on. We're very fortunate to have you as well - we learn more from you than you realize.

Good to hear from you Ken! I'm glad everything is looking pretty rosy, albeit busy. Congrats on the paint job/magazine article! Make sure to keep us posted as things progress!
As I've said to many people... I never expect anyone to put C3VR before their own family, so whenever you can stop by here for a few minutes is ok with us! We appreciate the status update.
Be well and try to get some rest occasionally!

Good to hear from ya' Ken! You won't know how to act with a painted car...........
She's comin' around slowly.......I guess they all do. Mine has to go to the body shop (I backed her into a telephone pole.......shhhhh........don't tell nobody) but I can't afford to do a whole paint job.

Did Debbie like the cow picture? I hope so, your the one that said she liked cows.

Hi Ken , you're a nice guy

What color will it be ???
and do you go for our brainstorm : absorbing colors in front and reflecting on the back ?? perhaps good for 1 hp extra ???

Oh no, Doctor--say it ain't so!
When you get your car painted, mine will DEFINITELY be the worst-lookin' Shark in this pool!
Seriously, congratulations on earning yourself more coverage. Given the many options these books have in terms of cars to feature, it speaks volumes about you and the worth of your project that they chose yours.
And my hat is also off to you for taking such generous and loving care of your family, at no small cost to yourself, in every category. You really do stand as an example of the finest kind on this Forum...
