Hi
Is anyone as upset as I am about Dale Jr getting docked 25 points as we come to the end of the racing season?
I don't argue with fineing him for using the s word during a NBC live interview but the team and it's sponsors have spent millioms to get were they are.
NASCAR awards points for on track perfomance-Jr has been the show lately and I just feel that something is really wrong with this.

I agree.
Don't penalize the whole team because the QB screwed up during an interview.
If I was Dale, I'd be feeling real low and wouldn't be giving interivews for a long time.

hasn't a precedent already been set? Another driver was fined the same amount in points and dollars for bad language? To back off of Jr. they would have to back off the other driver as well.

It would be a shame if the s-bomb causes him the championship, but NASCAR has to stay consistent (no flip-flop). It pains me to say that, I'm a huge Jr. fan.

Yes, a precedent has been set this year, on two seperate occasions. I feel sorry if this will cost Jr. the championship, but I understand, and applaud the fact that NASCAR will, and did stick to their guns, and levy the same fines, and points deductions for the infraction. You can't fine two different drivers one way, and then give Jr. a break, for the same violations.
In a situation like this, you must remain consistent.
Just my 2 cents.

Tonights episode of South Park said it is ok to use the word shit as long as it is not literly. Almost 100 years ago Mark Twain stated that there are so few words that everyone understands that you should use the words you
know.

never understood nascar.....
driving around in circles hundreds of laps seems boring..
that and not knowing who is really in the lead without the announcer as you get people who are laps behind..
I think of nascar like basketball... only the last two minutes has any excitement
I guess the big payoff is when they wreck..
since they instituted new safety rules veiwership is down 45%
