 Teacher qualifications

After being interviewed by the school administration, the teaching prospect said,

'Let me see if I've got this right:

'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior,
observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages,
and
instill in them a love for learning.

'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted

diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride.

'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and
how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job.
You want me to check their
heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the
provincial exams.

'You want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.

'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books,
a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.
You want me to do all this
and then you tell me...
..............

'I CAN'T PRAY?'

Bob, I take my hat off to you..........I hope you don't have any scars.....It's crazy now adays.........metal detectors etc. I did a lot of work for schools. In the inner city, they would give me an guard escort to get to my HVAC equipment. The teachers had to have underground protected parking. Take care of yourself, Larry

I taught adult education for 22 years and you would not believe all the personal problems some of them have.   Our private school advertised locally on Jerry Springer and I think we got a lot of their guests!!!    Dead

You would think students at a Technical College would be better, and most of them are.  But many are still kids, and act like classic idiots.  But hey, I also use dry erase markers!!!

My union wanted me to teach at night, trainees. I've taken classes at all the manufactures schools etc., but I feel it takes a special type of person to be a teacher. I didn't think that I could provide the right stuff to the people.  Having the knowledge is good, but teaching it in a way for others to understand takes a lot of skill and patience. I respect all good teachers. Take careClap
