Does my one vote really count? I'm being told nightly it doesn't! The emphasis by both candidates is on "battleground" states. N.C. is not one of them. Why should I bother even going?
Ben made a decent point a while back, our choices are made for us with the 2 party system. I'm beginning to think the elections are simply a formality, or a reason for the candidates and entourage to party all over the country.

youre absolutely right, your vote doesnt count, neither does mine. Im in a "RED" state. Right now the only people who need bother showing up to the polls are in the purple states.. FL, OH, MI, PA, CO, etc.

although in CO, all votes may wind up counting if the state constitutional amendment passes that would allow electoral votes to be assigned based on percentage of the popular vote.

the winner take all system perpetuated by both crooked parties is a corruption of the framers intentions. nowhere in the constitution is the winner take all system defined.

NE and MI have the best systems for dealing with the dilapitated electoral system. One vote to the candidate that wins each congressional district and two for the statewide winner. Colorado's proposed law is less logical but still better than the crap we have right now.

everyone complains about the voter fraud perpetrated by the Republicrooks and Demogogues during the last election because upto 3% of the electorate was disenfranchised through foul play. Yet currently in 48 states the system automatically disenfranchises upto 49.99% of all voters.

the system is broke and until we fix it, it will continue to give us these horrible choices.

Keryy - Socially and Fiscally liberal, tax and spend demogogue.



btw, did you know we pay something like 150 million dollars to each party every four years to fund their conventions. what the hell for. The candidates have already been decided by that point.

ive seen it. and while it doesnt paint a pretty picture of bush, it doesnt make me feel any better about kerry either.

Might as well get my 2 cents in... I am a vietnam vet...served 2 tours ..flew off a carrier. I'm not happy to see over 1000 fine young men & women dead with over 10,000 injured (we'll be taking care of them for along time) and many more to come. We've destroyed alot more family's than will ever be known. The national debt is at its highest and going up each day. I remember listening to Jane Fonda in the plane,,,bet George never heard her as he was to busy smokin & druging and serving our country his way. This man is a jerk in every way & I'd vote for smokey the bear to get him out.
