I don't mid telling you all this. Since the Marines returned to Iraq to replace the Army 6 Marines have been killed. CNN carries this as a "secondary" news story. This annoys me beyond belief. I really could not care less what some Iraqi cleric thinks of Israel assasinating the Hamas leader.
CNN and Fox and the other broadcasting companies are basically deceiving the American public by reporting only negative news from Iraq. Don't mention the fact that EVERYWHERE else but Fallujah and Baghdad (and even 90% of those two cities) the people are for the most part content and even excited to start a new life under a system of equality and fairness. Don't mention the fact that major parts of "life" in Iraq have been restored, or put in place where they didn't exist previously (electricity, clean water, etc.) Don't mention the soccer games between the Army or Marines and local teens. Don't mention the Christians in Iraq that now have the right to work and live freely. Let's only talk about the insurgents, the terrorists. The ones trying to undo all the good that has happened in the Middle East.
Sorry if I got on my soap box for a while, but this is something I feel VERY strongly about, and those of you who have been here a while know exactly why. Please, the next time you see a service member (Marine or not) thank them for their service, thank them for their dedication. And pray for their Brothers and sisters at arms still in harms way. Go to Marinetimes.com or one of the sister sites and print out the list of casualties in this war. Don't forget them.
Thank you for reading this. Semper Fidelis and god bless you, America, and the United States Armed Forces.
