That one didn't make in onto either list. If you want to try this no driver stunt in an old Lincoln the Volo Auto Museum (www.volocars.com) has a 64 Continental with the engine in the trunk and an intricate steering system under the hood, so you can drive it without being seen. They said it cost something like $150,000 to build. It's an expensive toy at $40,000, but you only live once.....

This must be the second '55 in "Two Lane Blacktop." It was used for all of the inside the car scenes. Can you guess where I found this picture at?

If you have two-lane black-top hold on to it. Its out of production and used they are getting over $100.

HOT ROD says there was a limited edition DVD than came in a tin box with a poster and keychain that is selling for $200 or more. It hasn't been on TV for a long time. If anyone sees this or "Vanishing Point" coming up on a national network please let me know. Actually, if any of the older top 40 movies are going to be on TV let me know. Thanks.........Dave

Joel, I remember "The Car"  Actually it was a very cool movie, abet a bit weird.   Do you remember the devils face in the flame and smoke when it finally crashed?

I agree the engine sound was awsome, but who can forget the horn?

The engine sounds like a fuel engine rompin down, the horn was a diesel twuck air horn, and when it went off the cliff at the end(ooops! I just spoiled the ending, didn't I? ), the "special effects, '70s style", were so cool! But........you get to hear the engine again after thinking it was dead!!
And this was before "Christine"!

I have to admit, I would like to have a copy of "The Car"  I think as hokey as it was, it's still one of my favorites.   Not only was the horn distinct, the pattern used when it was honked was very distinct.  The only interior shot, with no driver, was cool as well.  Very custom fabric and an erie effect inside.

I wonder what muesum this car is in now?

My favorite of all time was "Bullitt"  Most of those scenes were actually performed, not special effects.  Of course the Charger did loose 5 wheel covers.

How about the The most evil car of all "Christine". Two Lane Blacktop has been showing on Sundance, my son made me a copy but the sound was lousy.

I've seen "Christine" about 20 times. The only thing I didn't like about it was they destroyed a nice '67 Camaro......

Hey Louis, I agree with you about the ricers in The Fast & The Furious. But the focal point for me was the blown Charger. These cars were hold on to your A$# fast with a hemi when I was a kid let alone the blower. So I rate this as a very cool flick as well.
