Well, many of you probably remember me talking about seeing a brake in a couple weeks ago. It happened to me during work yesterday. I went out to my truck after work yesterday to find that he popped open my rear sliding window and and stole my six disc changer, a bag of gym stuff with new sneakers, and the change organizer out of my console. Pissed off I drove home. Came into work this morning with a few messages telling me to talk to security. Seems that a guy saw the kid getting in my truck from a camera on top of the building that is about 200 yards away from the lot. He took off to the lot in the companies shuttle bus and almost caught the kid in my truck, but the kid saw him getting out and then took off back out the window. The security officer started chasing home and then a guy from the paint store next to the lot started chasing him too. Then the cops joined the chase but the kid was too fast and got away over some railroad tracks and woods. They said they tried getting in contact with me, but I think they were trying the wrong person because I didn't get anything until this morning. I had the cops come back and told them what was missing. The guy from the paint store said he thinks it was the same kid that stole the stereo out of his car. I'm not too upset about losing the stuff anymore. The changer was about 5 years old and I wanted an mp3 player anyway. I won't put it in until I go back to school though. The worst thing is that I really do feel violated and its just an inconvenience. What he may get $30 for tops, is going to have to cost me a pretty penny to replace. He should try getting a job like the rest of us. Safer and he'll get more money.

Sorry to hear about this saga.
The problem with him "getting a real job" is, he probably is too stupid! No one would want to hire a waste of air like him! That's why his "job" is stealing things out of cars.
Oh well... shame they didn't catch him. Sounds like they were right on his heels.

What Adam said. Hopefully he won't be back any time soon or maybe never. Does everyone that parks in the lots know there's a thief on the loose?

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Sounds like you need an 8 ft cyclone fence with barb wire on top around the parking lot. It might not hurt to have an armed guard in a watchtower in the parking lot, too. That is all that little son of a b---- will ever amount to. A damn thief!!!

That really sucks! I bet the insurance won't pay hardly anything either. Was the window damaged to the point it has to be replaced?
I work across the street from one of the larger malls in the country and we have a lot of trouble with cars being stolen. Nothing in the way of simple vandalism. Makes you wonder which is worse, to walk outside and find your car windows broken out and the car full of water from rain or snow or to not find the car at all. I think as far as feeling violated, the vandalism is worse. Never had a car vandalised but did have a '74 Vette stolen.
Hope the insurance takes care of you and the cops catch the thief.

Unfortunately he didn't get enough to have insurance cover it. The lot has been hit before, but then again all the lots around here get hit so its pretty bad. This is one reason I'm a country boy!!! I hate cities.... and this one is very small. I went shopping last night and replaced just about everything except for a disc changer. I'm just going to keep the old headunit with just a radio in it until I go back to school then it'll be time for an upgrade.
