Well I just got back home from the East Coast and I was susposed to be home on June 29th

Everything went astray the night before we were susposed to leave my Father-in-Laws house in NJ. My F-I-L has a 116lbs Boxer and he attacked my wife and sunk six teeth into her forearm. I wanted so bad to shoot the dog with their own gun but refraned. Needless to say we left the next morning really early and headed for JFK in NYC for our flight to Las Vegas connecting on to Seattle.

Our flight on America West Airlines was delayed 2 hours in NYC and we arrived in Vegas way too late for our flight on to Seattle. When I checked in at the ticket counter in Vegas they told me they could not get us out until 2 July Don't forget its 4th of July weekend and all flights on everything is booked solid They gave us a room in the Orleans Hotel at a disconted rate (hold on it gets better) and told us we need to find our own transportation there. Remember my wifes arm? It's now swollen up like a football. I had to rent a car so we could take her to the ER on Nellis AFB. There they gave her an IV with a antibotic and pain killers.

Oh ya back to the room, I found out that the discounted room rate was only for one night of the three nights we had to stay Now I'm out $250 for a hotel, $168 for the rental car, $60 for the three extra days the dogs were in the kennel, and $30 extra parking at the airport To say the least, I'm pissed.

Sorry for the ranting and cursing, but I think I just needed to vent.

Moral of the story, stay the hell away from America West Airlines

No doubt, the vacation from hell. I hope the better half's gona be ok. The main reason I don't fly, too much hassel. Also they don't have a big enough bottle of Jack on the plane for me. My son is back in NJ, can't convince him to leave the east coast. It's just gone too crazy for me back there. The whole thing seems almost overwelming, but I trust it will get better. We're goin on an Alaskan cruise in Sept, and plan on drivin up to Seattle, did I mention I hate to fly? Hang in there Mark.

Dave

Thanks everyone, the wife went to the Doc today and they said that the wound is healing really well and the infection is way down

Joel you are right, I would have had much more fun in PF  And I drive everywhere I can, if I can drive it I don't fly it, but 10 days off and going to the east coast, not gonna happen by car.

Hey Red you know what, thats the third time that Boxer has bite someone, my wife and his wife twice  I agree that dogs gonna hurt someone even worse someday but they have no childern together so its like their baby to them  They are lucky I didn't shoot the dog, they keep a 22 pistol by the back door for shooting Ground Hogs that rip up their garden. Believe me I was looking at the pistol

Mark,

I fly all the time for business.  LV near a holiday is bad news!  A better option would have been through another major hub like Minneapolis Northwest or Charlotte USAirways. NJ is close to several major airports as well so that give you even more options.  It's all about staying away from the crowds.  Sorry to hear about your wife getting bit.  Maybe it is a good thing you live on the west coast and the in-laws live on the east coast!!

Sorry to hear of your bad trip,

I did take a picture of a very nice Pace Car that looks like yours but only had 51 miles on it. The decals were still in the trunk which is how the factory shipped it. I will post it for you when I get home on the 8th.
