You guys are gonna dig this story. I went to a good temp agency about a month ago. Filled out all the paperwork and tested well. I got a call from them on Monday, interviewed at Ray-Pack the next day. What I didn't know till I got there and part way into the talk was that my new boss Dan Motta just bought his wife a really nice used C5 for Christmas. Her dream ride. I was there for 2 hours and about half of the interview we talked Vettes! My interview was Vette related! :) He's even letting me off a few hours early on the 22nd to help set up a local cruise-in and wanted me to email his wife and invite her to come down to Ventura for it! Can you freakin believe it??? I never thought I would find this good of a job. The starting pay is 16 bucks an hour! They can hire me direct after 3 months. The lady who's job I may take over permanent is 43 and pregnant and only in her first trimester and having some problems sad to say. They don't know if she'll last the whole time, and may not come back after the baby is born. She's been there in this job for 25 years. They have low, low turn over. Most have been there over 10 years, some 30 and more. I'll eventually be the dispatcher for the whole So Cal area! I get to ride around with a few to learn how pool heaters and stuff work. I'm not looking forward to that part, cuz it's been very hot out here. I get to tell 8 guys where to go every day! Wow, work, I'm not sure I know how an office works anymore it's been soooooo long! I'm very excited, can you tell?

Ray-Pack is now world wide and they manufacture and service hot water systems like big boilers, furnaces and pool heaters. They just opened a new building a year ago the next city over. It's 6 1/2 acres INSIDE! Plenty of good parking for my baby, and 4 others have Vettes there. All C5's of course the wimps. lol And I can wear C3VR shirts to work, and other Vette stuff too! No dang pantyhose thank you! :)

Karma you guys, Karma! :)

Adam, I'll do my best to check my section every night after work. That's the best I can do right now. Hope that's cool with you.

Glad you landed someting good. I think I will be out of work by the end of the year. Positions first being 'reduced' and then most likely 'out-sourced'.

Thanks to all of you for the nice words, I do appreciate them. Those of you that are out of work will get work, I can just feel it. 3 other friends of mine, well, we all got jobs this week! And 2 of us REALLY needed them badly. So now, when I get even again cash flow wise, I need to have my steering checked. I'll have to rent a car to get to work, but the good thing about that is I can park next to anyone and not stress. :)

Any of you affected by the big power failure back east? Just watching it all on the news right now. Wow!

Those of us in and around Philly were spared the stress. We were for sure next in line. Good thing the guys on watch were actually watching something besides TV. |thumb| or the insides of their eyelids |smile|

Thats great Dar! Sounds like a cool job. Congrats!

And we did have some black outs in my neck of the woods.
I like how they said that there was a lighting strike at the Niagara Power plant. NOT! I was out at the base working one of our aircraft when the blackout occured. And I can assure you that if there was any lighting around,we wouldn't be near any aircraft working on them.
