Joel;

I don't know your trick for them but up here, we put anti-bacterial soap in a sprayer and hose 'em down.  This is much safer and easier on the trees than the old way of burnin' them out!

With all the rain this year, we haven't seen 'em around here.

Hey Joel I had to cut them sucka's outta my tree. I got a ladder as tall as I could and cut the effected branches out. It looked like a whole in the tree but grew right back in the following year.

It looks like they eat the leaves and poop on your head.AngryWits%20EndCensored

Do they kill the trees or just make a mess?

Can you get an attachment that hooks up to your garden hose and spray them?

How about calling the local fire department and let them practice proper fire hose techniques on your trees?LOL

They will kill a younger tree, but the one pic I posted is of a very large 40 year old tree in my back yard. I do have some of the thangs in a Crepe Myrtle tree/bush/plant. They will eventually kill all the vegetation on the branch.
This tree would be hard to trim without some kind of bucket truck to git up thar...
Ain't no way in heck da fire dept could get back there to blow em out...too far from da street..

So...the obvious solution? Don't werry bout the thangs!

Joel;

Can ya stand on the roof of the house and use a water hose with a sprayer attachment?  That's how I got into my pecan trees.

Do these little buggers start out as flying insects and land in the trees or do they start out in the ground and climb up the tree trunks?

If they are the latter, next year grease your tree trunks, especially young trees, so they can't crawl up into the branches.

That's what we had to do a few years back when we had a horrific infestation with tent catapillars.

Did you ever think one ugly picture would generate so much text?LOL
