Vette(s): 1977 L-82 originally white/buckskin interior.
Currently undergoing a frame-off resto. and modifications.YEEHAW!!!
Davii- I've had several F-bodies over the years also. My first was a 1981 Firebird Esprit, s... brown, with a whomping 231 v-6. I bought a 1973 Bonneville for $300.00 and took out the enging and tranny, both 350's.
I was working for Ertley Olds.-Cadillac night shift at the time, and did all the work there after hours. Hot rodded the engine, and turned that snail into a screamer. A white paint job was next for it, along with Crager SS rims. Man, that turned out to be a sweet ride.
I traded it in one year for a 1980 Trans Am Indy Pace Car Edition. 301 Turbocharged. The hood had the sweeping scoop with the 3 lights on it. "low, medium, and OH MY GOD!!!" I actually had those letters redone on the lights to read that. And I tanked the motor in that, imitating Burt Reynolds also, cruising Wyoming Ave. in Kingston.
After that, a 1984 Trans Am. Black on black. Okay, we're talking "Knight Rider" here. I'm not going to get into that one too much.
So you're the one that left that oil slick on 309?hahaha
Thanks for serving.

69 VW Fastback European edition. It had twin carbs and fog lights for headlights. Also had been driven too long with loose headbolts. I traded it, $400 cash, and my second car (76 Volare Wagon, 225 slant-6) for a 64 Impala SS with 307 4-speed and 2 1/2" dual exhaust that both came out under the passenger door.
hahah i've left more than one oil slick on 309! Probably left a few on 80, 81, broad st. etc. etc. etc.

O.K. here it goes ,My 1st car was a 61 Chevy Impalla rag top,6 cyl power glide, red with black top,had a lot of fun with that one, then I traded up + $400.00,for what I really wanted,1957 Chevy Bel-Air rag top, white with blacktop,it came with 6 cyl Power Glide, that came out, picked up 327 Vette motor, and a 4 speed, now she was cool.I kept it for about 4years,then traded it for a 62 impala S/S 327 auto ,loved that car,was drag racing another 62 chevy one night lost control,a rolled it over, that was the end of the cool cars, for a long time, got lucky though ,came out of the wreck with just a cut on the back of my head, took 12 stitches that was it ,the S/S didnt do so well

My Dad gave me his 1961 Ford Falcon Ranchero,170ci,3 on the tree.I learned to line-lock on this.In 1 weeks time I had to switch my rear tires my right one was always bald.I put a Chevy 3 speed floor shifter in it,the shift pattern was backwards, my Dad never drove it again.

66 GTO 389 six-pack, 4speed w/Hurst, White/Black with aftermarket reverb on the am/fm and 8 track player. Cousin Brucie never sounded better that is until I swithched to Allison Steele the Nightbird.....
One more thing. I paid a whopping $1200 for a near mint ride! My how things have changed.....
1980 Chevy Imala 4 door 4.4 Liter (267 cid) 120 HP
It was a gift from my grandfather when I was 13. Even though the car couldn't get out of its own way, it never left me at the side of the road. My father and I repainted it twice, and did most of the mechanical work. I drove the car until it hit 173,000 miles (W/O rebuilding the transmission or the engine!) and the car still ran, shifted, and rode great.
Then I sold it and used the money to buy the '76 Corvette I now own.

I had a 1972 Chevy Vega. When I first got it it burned a quart of oil every 200 miles. It was like James Bond laying down a blue smoke screen. You could follow me from two miles behind and never lose me.
After replacing the motor it was pretty quick for the 140ci powerhouse that it was. This is the car that I learned to be a mechanic on. If I didn't repair it every weekend I walked to school the next week. Even then my hotrodding tendancies were in action. I was looking for a small block conversion kit for it when it broke down for the last time.
I would like to say I miss that car.
Thanks for the post! It's been a long time since I had thought of that car.

Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
Well, let's see my first car was a 1988 Ford Escort. It was black, no A/C, 4spd. I bought it used and I had cashed in all my saving bonds that my grandparents had given to me over the years. I bought the car, not really knowing how to drive stick, but I learned real fast on the way home.
Well, after having the car for 6 months the clutch died (not my fault) and it was gonna cost more to fix it than it was worth, so we (my dad and I) traded it in on a nissan 200sx. That's my story and I am sticking to it!!
