Just hold your breath and it will be over before you know it.
Having been a lifelong resident of the snow belt and a motorcycle enthusiast most of my years, I have come to a sort of peace with winter. Winter gives me some time to do things to my toys that I do in the summer only if forced to by breaking down. Preventative maintenance and fix it jobs make time just seem to fly by. If you get bored, stop up to my toy garage. My vette needs the driver seat repaired and the heater core replaced, just for starters. If you get tired working on the Vette, I have a Harley that needs the engines top end rebuilt and a Yamaha that needs a valve in the front cylinder. If you get them all done before the sun starts shining in sunny Western PA. we will can all have a beverage of your choice in my toy garage.

Didn't get a lot of driving in this summer due to a lack of funds to do brake repairs so needless to say I wasn't looking forward to thinking about putting "The Toy" away for the winter. But last weekend I finally broke down and did the winter prep routine expecting to tuck her away before Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately the owner of the warehouse where I'll be storing her this winter hasn't called yet to set up a time to get in there so "The Toy" just seems to beg to go for a spin every time I go in or out of the garage. So far I've held off the temptation, but my resolve is beginning to weaken...!!! Once out of sight (but not out of mind!) I'm sure I'll be wanting winter to be over A.S.A.P. so will have to deal with that as best as possible.
In the meantime just need to get some snow on the ground (a couple of feet will do) to get out and enjoy it so spring will come sooner. Winter and cold just are not bearable unless there is a good thick blanket of the white stuff to complete the package.

Maybe I shouldn't upset the guys in PA (my company's home office is in Allentown, PA....and I need to go up there for business several times a year) but....there is a good reason I live in GA...I took the vette out yesterday and today for nice long rides.
Sorry...
Sorry...

As long as there is no snow or ice on the road, I'm all for opening the garage door & taking her out for a spin. Now that we've had our first Connecticut snow though, I'm much more careful of sand and road pebbles. I do notice too that as quick as the 454 was to get too hot in the summer, it seems proportionally slow at really warming up in the winter. (20 degrees is 20 degrees though I guess.) Also, the sound of "hammer down" squealing tires is just not as awesome when the ground is frozen and the rubber is cold.

I'm glad I bought my '93. It does not seem to mind the snow as much as the '69 does. The '69 gets more "time off" for beauty sleep now. I just have to find a cheap hard top for the '93.
Leave it to Glenn. He can afford to buy a 2nd Vette and he wants to buy a cheap top for it. Hey Glenn are you still pinching nickles to watch the buffalo poop? Well, for my 2 cents worth, you should buy a good top with all your money.
