Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks (and trailers) are?

Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago ?

Where are the $2000 debit cards for all the poor folks in Iowa ?


When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines ?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa , because that's the way God wants it?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism?

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

Only in America can our Government wish to send millions to Mira mar but forget to return the favor to those who pay into those millions. I would guess that the same Government is naive enough to believe that each state will either take care of itself or ask for help.

Where are those Presidential candidates now? They are missing out on the voting public.... Or, do the feel pretty smug in their current status?

Congress needs a "We The People Day" each month where the floodgates are opened for the average Joe to speak at will. Even if they aren't willing to be acknowledged by the members.... At least you would have a true voice!

The only one I know that is helping the people in the flood areas is Jay Leno. He was having a 100% profit going to them from a show he was having in Las Vega. It was mentioned on the Tonight Show last week.

Maybe you don't hear much about Iowa because there isn't a lot of people there that feed at the trough of big government.
Maybe because they know enough to do what they can to help each other, rather than sit on their azz's, blame a president they don't like on the weather and wait for big brother to come make everything better, and he better be there right away.
Maybe a certain policial party sees no gain to be made.

Living in Mississippi i know about gov help after a desaster and i also know about flooding (all too well). Being raised a country boy in KY and OH i believe John Denver knew what he was saying when he sang "a country boy can survive" i also believe that gov help more often than not slows progress and creates depenence. those people are very.very busy now and will need help for some time to come after the floods reside
