Glad to hear your great news, Ken. All our prayers and good wishes are positive and helping you and your wife.  Glad to hear you have your kids with you at this awful time. You give each other strength and hope. Glad to hear of the positive progress! Keep up yours too!

She has been moved into a long term care area at the hospital.

Yesterday she stayed awake and alert for almost 4 hours at one stretch,  a new record!.  She can now control her right arm and hand moderately well, not good, but much improved.  She is still too weak to lift her legs, but can now move them.  She can lift her left elbow off the bed, but not her hand.  In the past she could not move anything on the left side.

She is watching some TV, and also wanted something to eat for the the first time in almost a month.  Excellent!  They won't allow her to eat until the do a test to see if she can handle it without getting food/water into her airways.  I hope they do that soon.

Tiny steps with a long way to go, but starting to get better!

Oddly enough, getting better is making it difficult.  My wife is now able to talk to me, and make some sense part of the time.  She is not really aware of what is truely going on. She does not have clear reason.  She knows where she is and why. It's very difficult to tell her that I cannot take her home, which she wants more than anything.  This brings her to tears.  She does not truly know how sick she is, and cannot at this time understand.  Very tough.  But in the long run, she is still improving.
