It's winter in Minnesota
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!
Oh, how I love Minnesota
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Minnesota,
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground.

And to think, I have to deal with these darn 50 and 60 degree days off and on all winter here in Memphis. Constantly dragging the water hose in and out to wash the cars. The road beckoning, cars nice and clean, sun shinning brightly, fighting traffic at the park. Oh woe is me. 
Can we block Southerners from this post

I REALLY liked that poem, I think it would be a great caption on a calendar winter month.
I admit, I really like the winter too, the snow and ice look so pretty. (in the pictures)

Us so called Mid Westerners are just stuck here in the Flu Zone... gonna be 50 here today and -5 on Sunday....

The only difference between Ohio an Minnesota is the spelling. I feel your pain, but only a little bit. I like winter and I feel sorry for the guys down south. They have to wash their cars year round. We northerners don't have to do that. We do anyways - we just don't have to.

Winter is spend money on the Vette Time! Saving on the gas. Winter storage insurance 50 dollars a year no deductible.
I remember a -40 degree wind chill day. I had to leave the jumper cables inside the house until I was ready to use them or they would be brittle before I could jump the car.
Everybody around here who says they "Love Snow" never shovel their sidewalks. Remote starters now those I Love!
