I'am confused I just bought a 1972 Lt1 and it has two hood stripes. When I look at others I see both 1 and 2 stripe hoods. I have seen them both ways with the owners saying they are ncrs correct and judged. Could someone please let me know what is correct? Thanks Mountain Man

don't know what the black book says, the only LT-1 hoods I have seen have two stripes, two down each side, two across the front, but in 70 the stripes were unequal, one thinner than the other until 7-18-70 and than equal from 7-24-70 to 72 end run, 70 had black strips with silver and black "LT-1," 71-72 had white strips with white and black "LT-1" I believe, as far as the NCRS goes where they get some of this stuff I don't know, maybe the striper came to work drunk one day, and 300 cars went out the door with one stripe, I joined the NCRS so that I cound get all their information on C-3's, its not the black book, I recieved two 3" thick binders loaded with info., didn't see anything about the stripes, but I will take a closer look. anips 2009-08-14 18:58:50
