Funny Corvette story. I've wanted a 1969 Corvette convertible since I was about 11, or 12, years old. I could never afford one in my younger years, so finally in my late fifties I found one I wanted but it was in Florida. I live in Texas and didn't want to take time off work to drive down to inspect the car. Therefore, I called the car lot and talked to the sales manager and their mechanic. Both acted as if the car just needed a little love but I didn't realize they did, absolutely, nothing to prep the car for sale so I bought it with the stipulation that they ship it to Texas for free. They did. When I went to pick it up it has transmission fluid all over it from another car on the truck that leaked onto my car. I started it up and it ran pretty bad and was definitely missing on one cylinder at least. The wipers didn't work... The fuel gauge didn't work... The brakes barely worked...There were many other issues as well and I felt serious buyer's remorse. It was Friday morning and I decided to take the three day weekend to do what the car lot should have done. I put new rear brake calipers and pads on the rear... I put new plugs, wires, and distributor cap on it... I fixed several vacuum leaks and got the wipers, and lights, to work. I changed the oil and filter. I change the differential gear oil too. After two, and a half days of work and a serious cleaning, the car was running and driving like new. Buyer's remorse gone!  It has an excellent engine and a 4 speed Muncie that runs, and shifts, like new. Will I ever buy something sight unseen again?  Who the heck knows but I'm so happy this story ended well. God bless you C3 owners. Keep on cruising the American dream!

That is great!! So glad it worked out for you, and seems it was relatively painless to get it worked out.
