Hey everyone,

Im new here and I hope this is ok to post here. I have a 75 L48 and Im having a problem with the headlights going up every time I start the vehicle. I manually put them down and back they go when it starts. In the Haynes book it says they are controlled by the headlight switch, or the manual control knob. Does anybody know where thats located? I just recently purchased this vette and that is the only problem it has.

logue-75, Welcome!

I too have a 75 L48. Your headlight switch is located on the driver's side dash near the window. It is a pull/push type of thing. The manual headlight switch is below the steering column. It is a small knob on the bottom of the dash pointing down towards the floor.

The manual switch could be in the wrong position. I don't think the headlight switch would do it, but they do go bad, and usually it is the resister in the switch for dimming the dash lights. If your dash lights don't work it is usually the headlight switch.

Awesome, that was the problem. The switch under the dash was broken so I temporarly bypassed it and they work great. Many thanks gmurray.
