Vette(s): 1976 L-48 Red

I’m excited to be apart of this forum. This 76 Vette was handed down to me for my 40th birthday from my Dad. I didn’t expect it although he always said one day I would have it. 15 days before July 1st he called me and said I mailed your present to you. He lives in Sandpoint Idaho, and I’m in South Carolina, so I figured it was a card and was stoked to still get a card or gift from my old man at this age. With my carrier I have the option to work remote from home or go out in the field and check up in crews working on cell towers if need be. My wife asked if I needed to be in the field last day of June and I said no, she smiled and went on with her day and I went on with mine at my desk. Around 5:45PM EST she asked me to go get the mail, and I said okay honey, my back needed a break anyways. I walked out of the garage and heard a diesel running and noticed an 18 wheeler idling in front of my house and the driver was backing the 76 down the ramps. I was in awe and new exactly what was being mailed at that time. I was a little choked up and extremely nervous. Hell, I hadn’t driven a stick in over 20 years let alone had never driven this car. But what a gift, what a cool dad. He loved this car, it only has 27,343 miles in it, all original and had been garage kept its entire life. I will honor the way my old man has cared and treated it. This car was always promised to me since I was a little boy. So you can imagine the excitement running through me. I’m still in awe a few weeks later and still have butterfly’s. There is a lot more that goes into the story and it can be for another day.  Again that’s for having me and I’m excited to meet new friends and learn more about this car and learn all the tips and tricks when it comes to keeping it the best possible shape it can be in. Cheers!

Welcome aboard!

Great Vette.  Your father has a good eye!  I love the American S200 wheels!  I helped a friend order a new ‘76 and that color and Flame Orange were the two finalists.  He ending up going orange but I was rooting for yours!

Mr. Dusty,  Welcome to C3VR. You have entered the Ultimate in Corvette Family. There isn't Any area Someone had not encountered in this group. Just ask, someone will have an answer. Now that you at IN, two things you need to do. First, set aside time to attend the 2021 C3VR Gathering in Dallas/Ft Worth. Second, plan a trip to Corvettes at Carlisle in August. Great people.
