Thanks for all the nice welcomes.  I have been using other corvette sites for several years and just recently came across this one.  As my C4 is in excellent running condition, I spend most of my time, effort and money on my 72.  I am more of a tinkerer than a cruiser.  I really bought it to "fix up" and improve it.

So far I have done a complete interior, new wheels and tires, new top, new VB&P front suspension,  lots of stuff under the hood, had the doors both off, repaired some small fiberglass cracks, changed out the gas tank, rebuilt the headlights, brakes, and lots of other small items.

Upcoming in 2008 i will rip out the rear end and replace the spring and shocks, rebuild the trailing arms, new u joints; then maybe exhaust and fine-tune some small items.  I would like to get the factory air up and running correctly before I take her on a long cruise.  Eventually I want to take her to the Black Hills for the July rally in Spearfish...about 500 miles one way.

Then, maybe in another year, pull the stock engine and have a local builder build me a motor that fits my needs including a little more bling.

I love my C4, but my heart belongs to my 72..............

Dan
I live in San Diego.  It is a great place to tinker with a C3.  In fact if you would like to come out and see what it is like to tinker in the warm winter sunshine you can come to my house and I will even lend you my C3 to tinker with.  I have a small list of tinkering to be done.

After reading what you have done it should take you only a month or so of full time tinkering.

Very niec 72 Dan!Cool

Really like the look of the modern TQ Thrust wheels. Those are in my future investment plans. Are they 15 inch wheels?

Very cool '72! Sounds like we have just about the same amount of projects to do.

Obviously I like '72s, but my favorite C4 color is Admiral Blue. Very nice cars you have!

I appreciate all the comments.  I am in SO Minnesota (Austin).  The TT2s are 16 inch with Sumitomos on.

For Christmas the old girl got a new console and ebrake console, new vacuum lines, and tubular upper control arms from VB&P.  They won't be going on until spring.

I've been to San Diego years ago.  My daughter and her husband are in Phoenix.  They are expecting grandson #2 in a couple of weeks so we will be going to Phoenix the end of January.

Yep, I would come to San Diego to wrench if you will come to MN to wrench this week.......no heater in the garage, though.

I'll shovel out for you before I head south...............Wink

If you get homesick for tinkering with your C3 San Diego is only 5 hours from Phoenix.

You do not have to bother about shoveling the snow for me.  My boy lives in Utah and he tries that line on me every winter.  I just wait until spring and it melts.
