Welcome! You just found the best site for advice on redoing it, wether it it custom or restore, that you will ever find. I have to admit, I have little to nothing to offer here, but we have some excellent experts in almost every aspect of our Vettes, you will never be made to feel stupid here, no matter how simple the question (yours cant be any simpler then mine, trust me) Its a great group of people here, lots of help!
Yep , what Dave said!...........You need to sign up for life cause if your going to redo it you'll be a while! The nice thing about these cars is you can work on them yourself, you will learn words you never ever knew, and trust me no matter what you come up against some one here has already been there! As Zak Brown say's "Jump Right in"!................Welcome aboard, ebo.

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

Dar, these guys are right - you've found the right place. Like Dave, I'll admit, I don't have much to add here as far as fixing these cars up but there are plenty here who do!
The number one thing to know is to be yourself and enjoy your car. Great bunch of people here on this site. Glad to have you here!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
thanks guys
lil background. its a 4 speed car. Black exterior, was grey interior, but someone put a red leather interior in it. It is all getting pulled out and installing either a grey interior back in it or going all black. either way the red is all coming out, someone needs that let me know.
its a good street able car. but this winter we plan on pulling it off the frame, redoing all suspension and body bushings and wearable items. so ill be around for a while. Wife has caught the bug and already asking to find a second car.

As you may already be aware, It is possible to repaint the color of the interior if money is tight, and it lasts if you clean before applying. Any way you might have higher priorities for your bucks on the car at 1st, tires, brakes, once you dig in the money starts adding up fast. As for having multiple vettes, I'm glad I built one for the wife, it's great to have a common interest in the family, in fact, a blessing.
