Thanks,
This is my first Vette with a second one ('77) for the wifey sitting on the docks waiting customs approval here in Brisbane, Australia.
I've had my 75 for about a month now and have started to prep her for a body work and paint. Been busy scrapping of 36 years worth of grease and Arizona dirt from underneath and removing the old bumpers for new ones, removing all interior trim etc...
Pretty excited to be doing this so I must have the bug bad!
Cheers!
Welcome, Geordie! You'll find that this is the best site on the net for C3 info and talk! Enjoy! (even down under!)

Hi Barry & Larry,
Well I guess its Spring over your way now so You'll probably have some car runs coming up. Looking forward to seeing some pics.
Larry, is that Bright blue metallic your 74's painted? My 75 is in need of a paint job and this is the colour I'm thinking. It was originally Medium saddle metallic but the 2nd owner painted it blue, and it has already been sanded back so I figure I might as well stay with that.
It has a Elderbrock Performer intake manifold some almost rusted out extractors a new Hei dizzy fairly new radiator. I'm not sure about the Preformer manifold as I havent had one before, previously had a Victor Junior on another vehicle I owned which was great. Got a nice set of 15x8 Crager s/s wheels ... love that old school look! Has a Hurst shifter but I might replace that with one of the stock looking bolt ons.
I've just recieved my first shipment of parts... new door panels, rubber weather seals kit, mirrors, etc... and waiting for another to come. All the interior needs replacing.
Anyway guys Ive been removing half of your beautiful country from underneath ( I know I've already mentioned this but you have to see it to believe it! ). I've taken some footage of the car and thinking of putting it on youtube as a sort of journal.
It would be fair to say all the bushes etc will need replacing, the inspection plate on the old Borg Warner is missing most bolts so expecting to find a sandpit.
Luckily I've stumbled across a guy who specialises in fibreglass repairs and used to fabricate for a Corvette shop in Mebourne (lower Australia). You see I have no floor where my battery box is, I dont know if this is a common problem or not? Anyhoo tell me why you can buy a reproduction Jack box a reproduction middle compartment box but no Battery box which could fit right into the existing cavity? Food for thought?!
MY GOD i'VE ALMOST WRITTEN A BOOK ALREADY

Hows it going Dan!
Funny you should say that as I live only about a 5 minute walk to the fish and chip shop which has 100's if not 1000's of different shrimps to buy for the BBQ. Not forgetting oysters, lobsters, muddies(big crabs which can lop your toes off no problem!) Fantastic place!

I have a slightly darkened 74 Medium Corvette Blue applied which gave a little more color depth to me. The standard Medium Corvette Blue is what it came with. Good luck with your new "baby".

Gday LuckyLuke!
Thanks mate, glad you made it home safely!
Well, started cutting off my old exhausts yesterday(which is your today) and today is your tommorrow!!? Keeping up with me???
Have to remove them to get to floors and battery box for repairs. All good though as I need to replace the rusty pipes for something more appealing.
Anyway just about died when Ecklers got back to me with shipping fees for new bumpers and spoiler. PARTS - $960. Shipping - $1130. PAINFUL LOOK ON MY FACE - $PRICELESS!
Gonna get back to them and see about shipping fees with standard US Post. I dont mind waiting for up to 4 weeks etc as long as it gets here.
Can anyone tell me about these newer kind of bumpers that are ment to be 70% more flexible etc?
I would have thought anything would be better than the originals!
I've been told that they're rubbish and crack the paint easily even with flex in the paint because they flex too much? Is this true?
If anyone has got the new bumpers on their car let us know.
Cheers,
Geordie
